If there is something that makes games boring, it is there being a permanent meta character or combo that just dominates full stop. Luckily, Riot has announced Patch 4.4 for League of Legends: Wild Rift, which adds three new characters and makes a few adjustments to mix up the game once more.

Patch 4.4 is bringing back a very exciting mode that debuted over the summer; Arena. This tournament pits four teams of two against each other in rotating combat rounds, until only one is left standing. Between battles, teams can power up Augments and purchase items to enhance their combat ability. If you feel like dominating the brackets, then the three new high-damage champions might be worth a look.

Arriving in time for Halloween is the Ancient Fear, Fiddlesticks, the jungle master who can drain the life of nearby victims and harras with his crows. With her ability to combat multiple foes at once, Sivir, the Battle Mistress, has the skills to dominate team fights. Finally, if you prefer total control, Zyra, the Rise of Thornes, can root opponents with her vines, and bombard them with spines.

Two Rift Veterans are getting tuneups in this patch, starting with Sona. She can stun a target with her passive once fully stacked for some added utility, and her ultimate hits in a circle before moving towards the target position. Ziggs’ ultimate is also getting a tweak with auto-aim becoming a bit easier, and he can now use his passive on turrets.

Additionally, Mages as a whole will get a boost, with spell casts getting a bit more snappy, and their base stats getting adjusted to allow more spells to be cast and a few more hits to be taken. Finally, two new items have been added for this class, with Oceanid’s Trident helping to break enemy defence, and the Crown of the Shattered Queen granting a powerful shield.

During games, defeating three dragons in a row will grant a new buff based on what type was hunted first, and to help with some morale, players can equip a pet to accompany their champions. The Wild Pass is packing two new skins for Ekko, and Ranked Season 11 kicks off with a Glorius Admiral Ashe skin up for grabs.

League of Legends: Wild Rift is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with Patch 4.4 landing on October 24th.
