It is a rare occasion where a collaboration makes absolutely perfect sense, almost like the two pieces were designed to go together, but that is exactly what we have with Stumble Guys announcing a partnership with SpongeBob SquarePants. There is just something about this collaboration that makes you go “Of course it had to happen”.
If you haven’t heard of Stumble Guys, you are in the minority at this point. Scopleys party battle royale racks up tens of millions of players each week thanks to its fast-paced gameplay and amusing ragdoll action. There are a multitude of modes and tournaments to join, and robust special mechanics so you can really rub it into that friend who just took a cannonball to the face.
After raising all kinds of havoc in Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and pals are joining the Stumbleverse, under the watching and fully-licensed eyes of Paramount Consumer Products. Players will be able to partake in some exclusive in-game events, collect some special emotes, and watch Patrick in his natural environment of pure chaos.
There will be two special levels to playthrough with gameplay types such as elimination and racing, perhaps Nickelodeon's attempt to make up for that awful Kart Racers game. Stumblers will be able to covort around iconic locations such as the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob’s House, with characters such as Sandy Cheeks, Plankton, and old absorbent Bobert himself available to play as.
As you enjoy these characters in their natural habitat of unabashed calamity, you can collect a host of special Emotes, Animations, and Footsteps. Encourage your competitors with the Spatula Slap, celebrate that suburb play with the Surprised SpongeBob emote, or employ subterfuge and try to distract the other runners with a Handsome Squidward.
Stumble Guys is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play, with SpongeBob and pals sticking around through the month, so make sure to jump on quickly to not miss the special collection milestones.
