In what was only ever a matter of when, not if, the forces of undead evil are on the move in RuneScape, and marching straight towards the player-built fort, as Vorkath: Battle of Forinthry is about to begin. Continuing the Necromancy season, players will need to man the walls and repel this ancient evil.
It was another glorious day in Gielinor until suddenly a ruddy great big boney dragon comes a rap tap tapping at the Fort Forinthry walls. It appears you have poked the necromatic bear too much, and now Zemouregal and his newly undead friend Vorkath have come to wipe your little piece of paradise off the map.
The Battle of Forinthry is an epic encounter that takes place across two phases. The siege phase will have thousands of undead rushing the Forts walls, with players needing to repel the horde whilst striking back against three places of power. These will weaken the enemy before it is time to face Zemouregal and Vorkath in a deadly showdown.
Should you emerge victorious with the majority of your limbs intact, you shall be rewarded with a Necromancy XP lamp, a Quest point, and two Treasure Hunter Keys. Crucially, however, you will also unlock Normal and Hard mode if you wish to tackle the battle again, with a host of powerful armour and items just waiting to drop.
As with all Fort Forinthry updates, you will need to be a Member to take part. This is because you need Construction level 50, Slayer level 10, and Necromancy level 60. You will also need to have built the Grove Cabin and Botanist’s Bench because it is well-documented that the undead will only attack a place that has an excellent topiary.
Runescape can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play, with a membership costing you $12.49 a month. If that feels a bit steep, you can always level Necromancy up to 20 on the free version to see if you want to commit.
