Since launching, Monster Hunter Now hasn't exactly been shouting about its existence, instead just trundling along with a regular event schedule, including its ongoing New Year event. You would be forgiven for thinking it has just been listing along, but some recent numbers show just how big a smash it has been.
Since launching September 14th, three-short-yet-somehow-long months ago, Now has racked up $73.3 million in-store commissions and taxes, stabilizing in the last month at an eye-watering $3.5 million a month, rocketing it to Niantics number 2 spot. No prizes for guessing who is first.
There are no signs of them slowing down, with A Happy Hunting New Year ringing in 2024, with Black Diablos stalking the desert habitats. As well as tackling this ferocious beast, there is a host of Event Quests to clear with exclusive equipment, Zenny and a hunter medal to collect.
Until January 8th you can take on these special missions which will task you with collecting Palisnow or engaging with some good old-fashioned monster slaying. There are five levels of quests to tackle, with the fourth one rewarding a hunter medal. If you are tough enough to complete the fifth level then you can revel in excellent prizes such as a Wyvern Gem Share and Zinogre Plate.
Fans of novelty eyewear are in luck, as you can get yourself a set of New Year Specs 2024. Start collecting Palisnow and you will be able to forge and upgrade this fashionable accessory with 2024 Armor Tickets. You will also be able to send out a festive message at the beginning of hunts with the Happy New Year skill. There are no buffs, but why not bond over us all surviving another year?
Monster Hunter Now is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
