Someone at Krafton has been watching a little bit too much Mandalorian, as they saw the Darksaber and went, “I am going to make an update about this”, and that’s exactly what has happened in PUBG Mobile. Version 3.0 completely changes the game's maps, and introduces a new weapon.

The new themed game mode, Shadow Force, spawns a powerful new melee weapon; the Shadow Blade - feel the edginess seep from it. The Draw Slash skill allows its users to quickly dash to and away from targets, and its Assault Blade skill allows you to deflect incoming projectiles - cause Star Wars.

For a faster way to travel, the Skytether Hook will allow you to well and truly launch yourself across the map to chase down a fleeing mark, or for a tactical retreat when needed. If you prefer to stick to a stealthier approach, the new Proxy Scout is an item that deploys a dummy scout to gather information or harass enemies, whilst you hide safely in that bush.

Throughout the maps, you will find some familiar urban areas have been remade, including Yasnaya Polyana, Prison, and Georgopol. There are new buildings to explore, with new traversal and looting experiences. Some of these might even feature Supply Warehouses and Camo Doors, so expect a fight when approaching.

The highly anticipated Artic Base makes its way to Metro Royale on January 11th, packed full of Tank and Commander enemies, a stealthy high-pressure air rifle, and zip line mechanics. For those of a more creative ilk, the World of Wonder will also be receiving some new customisation options, including templates, interactive objects, and even a Virtual Projection Device.

The new Royale Pass Ace will kick off from January 14th until March 16th with rewards such as a new scooter finish, legendary items such as the C6S16 Set, and an interesting upgradeable melee weapon. Finally, some holiday events have been announced, such as the Lunar New Year starting February 9th, with special Dragon’s Blessing possibly replacing air drops and containing Dragon’s Gift. Valentine’s Day will also be marked with a new 2-Seat Bike, because nothing says romance than shooting people in the face, as a team.

PUBG Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with this new mode lasting until March 11th.
