Kaia Island is experiencing something of a snap-freeze, as ice overtakes all in Play Together. Luckily, this is not an apocalyptic event that will see Jake Gyllenhaal kicking in your door. Instead, it is a time to celebrate with a host of new fish to catch, event missions to complete, and a special new house that those cold-blooded amongst us will love.
If you peer into the sea, you may spot what look like floating frozen shards, but open your angler eye, and you will instead see one of the new Icy Fish species, of which there are 30. These frozen-looking wonders can be caught during wintertime in the sea, as well as in other generic wet bodies of water such as the Camping Grounds, ponds, and more. They are quite adventurous for a fish. If you are lucky, you will see the Snowflake Harp Sea wearing its fetching scarf, or the Snowy Right Whale with an igloo on its back, like the snail of the sea.
By ice fishing and catching these new fish, you will start knocking out the new event missions available to complete. If you manage to finish them all, then you could be rewarded with the Floating Fishing Glacier vehicle, a mode of transport said to perform even on the cold winter sea, should you be foolish enough to try.
You could even find yourself catching more than our scaly friends, with Solid Ice Boxes sometimes snagging your line. Open them, and you can take part in the Icy Bingo Coin event. Collect the coins, throw them at the Bingo board, and you can walk away with the Winter Sailor Costume.
Now, you have a vehicle, you have a new set of clothes, all that's left is a home, and if you don’t mind the cold then you can set up inside a new Igloo. This new house lets you decorate both inside and out for true style, and it even has an inside fishing spot which no one will absolutely fall into. Big hole in the floor not withstanding, this spot does hold some exclusive Icy Fish, so it's worth getting one to finish the event.
Play Together is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
