We are seeing more and more mobile games running tournaments and giving players a chance to earn money with their skills, and I for one am right behind it. Now, Riot is announcing its latest prize pool-backed venture with the Remix Rumble Championship primed to kick off soon in Teamfight Tactics.

The world’s best players are already duking it out in regional events to qualify for the Set Championship, with Remit Rumble set to take place from March 1st to 3rd between the top 32 players across the globe. First place will scoop a rather delicious $150k from the $456k pool, and that’s money worth getting out of bed for.

Starting on March 1st, all players will split into four lobbies and take part in six games, with the lineups shuffling every second time. The contenders will start earning points depending on where they finish, i.e. first place gets eight, eighth place gets one and so on in that style - you know how to count.

On day two, all players will again compete in the same fashion whilst retaining their points from the previous games. At the end of this day, only the top eight players will advance to the grand final, and it is a doozy. A champion will be dubbed through the so-called Checkmate Format. The first player to hit 20 points and then secure a first-place finish is the Remit Rumble Champion. This could be a short finale or an epic slog for the ages.

Riot has also laid out an update for future tournaments. Each Set Championship winner automatically qualifies for the next Championship, provided they qualify for their Regional Finals. That means the Remit Rumble Champion will win both the $150k, and a place in the Set 11 Championship if they nail their regional final.
