Since it has already been half a year since Monster Hunter Now launched for mobile, seriously what even is time anymore I'm sure it only came out last week, Niantic is teaming up with premier social app Discord to offer players quite a special gift.

Until April 18th, Monster Hunter Now players will be able to claim one free month of Discord Nitro to make hunting with friends that much easier. There is one stipulation though, and that is you can’t have been a Nitro member for at least a year. Besides that, just check the in-game news and get yourself set up.

Discord Nitro is packed full of handy little features, although at this point let's say it functions perfectly fine without a subscription. But, for this free month at least, you could enjoy a ten times bigger file sharing limit, HD streamings if you are into that, longer messages, and two free server boosts, and that’s just naming a few

Honestly, one of the most useful perks of Nitro does sound to be the ability to have separate profiles for each server you are in, letting you create customised avatars, banners, and bios. It is a neat tool if you happen to use Discord for all your social gaming aspects, and if you like it for this month, you can pick up a sub for $9.99 a month.

If you don’t particularly enjoy being social, myself included, then you can still get some free in-game gear out of this collaboration, but you still need to activate the Nitro subscription. Head to User Settings > Gift Inventory and Discord, and you can send some goodies to your in-game hunter.

This comprises one paintball to tag that monster you just don’t have time to nab right now, one Wonder Orb that increases the range you can hunt monsters in by 50% for 30 minutes, and finally one Deviljho Scale, one of the newest big boys that have arrived, perfect for a headstart to that crafting set.

Monster Hunter Now is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
