Epic Games announces new mode for global phenomenon Fortnite

I was never the biggest player of Fortnite. I had a few games at the beginning before quickly learning I wasn't enough of an architect, but one of the best things Epic Games did was add a buildless mode. Because of this, whenever they mention a new mode is coming I get intrigued, which has happened recently with Fortnite Reload.

Along with this mode comes a brand new map, ostensibly at least. Completely new or map, treading unfamiliar ground is always exciting with bullets whizzing past you. Reload is for both Battle Royal and Zero Build and comes with classic weapons, locations, and vibes, like Runescape Classic but with more silly dances.

Reload takes place on a tighter map, so there goes the age-old hide in a house or bush and pray tactic. You will however get to experience Retail Row and the dreaded Tilted Towers once more. This is a 40-player Squads match, which if you get taken down you can reboot, provided someone in your four-person squad is still active.

Add this to the smaller map, and there are going to be some hectic battles going on. Even more so when you add in the fact that the Storm moves faster than usual in Reload. When you get felled, you can opt to start your reboot timer which begins at 30 seconds, increasing to 40 later in the match.

Your teammates can help you get back into the match by eliminating opponents, which will reduce this timer. Towards the end of the match, reboots will stop, which makes sense of course. If you want to experience this new mode, you can take part in intro Quests rewarding 20,000 XP each. You can earn yourself items such as the Digital Dogfight Contrail, NaNa Bath Back Bling, and if you get a win, The Rezzbrella Glider.

You can try to earn that victory royale on mobile by playing Fortnite through Cloud Gaming. It is available from Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, and Amazon Luna.
