Albion Online has been going from strength to strength lately with new servers and the introduction of that pretty cool weapon story system, and they show no signs of showing down. Later this month, July 22nd to be specific, the Paths to Glory update will launch with some interesting new additions.

If you are looking for a new challenge, or are a new player who needs some gentle introduction to the various activities available, then head to the Albion Journal. It will launch with five categories; PvE, PvP, Gathering, Economy, and Exploration. Head these tasks, and you will find yourself on the path to some tasty rewards.

To get your loadout looking shiny and new, turn your eyes to the new Crystal Weapons. There are three to collect, starting with the Twin Slayers which throw out a ring of daggers to skewer foes. The Dreadstorm Monarch conjures a storm to debuff opponents, and if you like support, the Exalted Staff both heals and removes ground-area spells. Pick your favourite, and prepare to upgrade them in the next Guild Season.

For those looking to expand their lands, Guilds can now own up to six islands; one each in Martlock, Bridgewatch, Fort Sterling, Lymhurst, Thetford, and Caerleon. They had also all received a redesign to make the area better match its surroundings.

Roads of Avalon have been improved through a rebalance of zones and connections, to make it easier to access the content you are after. The Roads have also had an adjustment so gathering is concentrated in fewer areas, with the PvE locations being more widespread. You can also Track a new Rare Quarry in the Roads or in the Shadowmask area.

In the Roads of Avalon and the Open World there is a new Dynamic Spawn Rates system. It will automatically monitor and adjust spawn rates for treasure, resources, and mobs based on a server’s activity at any time. Supposedly this will lead to more evenly distributed loot, but we will have to see how it performed.

Albion Online is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
