We have only just entered July but I for one can’t wait for the month to be over, as it brings us closer to the date we have all been dreaming of. Hoo Studio has confirmed that their fantastic-sounding title, The Godfeather: A Mafia Pigeon Saga, will finally be released on mobile on August 15th.
The Godfeather, as loathe as I to shorten its amazing name, places you firmly in the talons of an associate in the pigeon underworld. Your leader has given you one very simple task; take back the old neighbourhood, a place that used to belong to your organisation before other birds and humans took over.
As a pigeon you have one weapon in your war; poop on everything. Crass yes, but also very fun. You will explore procedurally generated levels set across three distinct areas; The Suburbs, The Boidwalk and The Town. Each of these has a dangerous boss you must outthink, outfly, and out-poop to proceed.
The boss isn't the only trouble you will face, as your enemies have eyes everywhere. If a cockatoo lookout clocks you, they will call in the Anti-Pigeo Drone to catch you. You will also face ravenous owls, cats primed to pounce, and citizens armed with hoses ready to bring your rain of poop to an end. Luckily, you can upgrade your stats between each run. Get stronger, beat your foes, and maybe you can become the next Godfeather.
Now before everyone gets too excited, there is one caveat to this, and it is a frustrating common problem lately. It will only be released on Apple products next month. There is an Android version to follow, but that will be late 2024. Never has there been a more convincing argument to buy an iPhone.
The Godfeather: A Mafia Pigeon Saga will be available from the App Store starting August 15th, and will cost a fairly reasonable $4.99. It’s either one Starbucks or explore the seedy underbelly of pigeon society, a no-brainer.
