I can be a very simple man sometimes. Show me a story about Deadpool, and I am going to write about it. So let's take a look at Marvel Snap's newest update. For the next few weeks, we will experience the season of Maximum Effort, a whole event of Deadpool Domination.
To kick this off, we will be able to collect some new cards based on characters close to the one and only Merc with a Mouth. Gwenpool is a four-cost six-power card with one hell of an ability. On reveal, you pick a random card in your hand three times and give it plus two each time. Manipulate your hand size well, and you could create an incredible monster.
Wade's old friend Hydra Bob is popping up as a one-cost four power, who moves each turn if a player Snapped, adding a bit of unpredictability to proceedings. Copycat, when drawn, steals the text from the bottom card of your opponent’s deck, in case you want to truly wing it with no plan.
As far as foes go, Ajax is popping up, with an ongoing ability to gain one power for each card in play afflicted with negative Power, perfect for a debuffing deck. Finally, Cassandra Nova is a three-cost one-power who steals one power from each card in your opponent’s deck. If you want that truly astonishing-sounding ability, you will need to head to Deadpool’s Diner between July 23rd and August 6th.
At the diner, you will earn rewards by betting on Deadpool’s Buds to move from plate to plate by winning games. Get to the last stage and you will unlock Cassandra for your team. The risk rises as you advance through tables, but so do the rewards. Also, the games here fall outside the typical ladders, so your ranking is safe.
In terms of locations, the Weapon X Facility will let you discard a card to draw a card, perfect if you are struggling, and the Taco Trucks adds a Chimichanga to your hand. Because with Deadpool, the chimichangas are never far behind. Speaking of Weapon X, head over to Twitch and watch 6 hours of Marvel Snap, and you will unlock a new Wolverine Variant, along with some other nice bonuses.
