It's been nearly a year since Sky: Children of the Light rallied its player base to set a world record, and this year over 300,000 fans gathered in Tokyo, Japan and Chengdu, China to celebrate Skys’ fifth anniversary. Dubbed SkyFest, a lovely name, the community gathered together to celebrate the shared emotional experience that defines the title.

For fans who couldn't attend the event in person, you can head to SkyFest Cinema to enjoy a shared video streaming experience with up to 10,000 other players in the same lobby. It was clearly a gigantic hit, as Sky logged a massive 700,000 concurrent players all coming together to watch the developer talks and other featured videos.

If you missed this, or a few of the older events, then luckily you can enjoy a nostalgic ride from Sky history until July 26th. You can relive such pivotal moments as the Aurura concert, the Little Prince asteroid rid, the Nine-Colored Deep meetup, and more. As well as this trip down memory line, we also got a bit of a window into the future.

When delivering their keynote speech, CEO and Creative Director Jenova Chen dropped some tasty details of upcoming projects. Keeping in the theme of celebrating the past, there has been a retrospective art book released with over 260 pages. It’s a bit pricey at $125.00, but if you are a fan of Skys’ wonderful art style it might be worth a look.

The next announcement centred on an upcoming collaboration. The phenomenon that is the Moomin series will be crossing over, with the tale of Ninny “The Invisible Child” from the 1962 Tales of Moominvalley entering Sky. Finally, for those looking forward to the upcoming animated series, Sky: The Two Embers will be released in 2025.

Sky: Children of the Light is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
