In a piece of undesirable news, Outerdawn has announced that their anticipated dark fantasy RPG, Grimguard Tactics, will be subjected to a delayed launch date. Luckily enough, however, we won't be waiting too much longer, as the new date will be October 23rd.
It seems that when developers announce their game's launch date has been delayed it is usually met with an overwhelming negative reaction. Personally, I fully support when the team acknowledges an issue and works to fix it instead of putting out a subpar product and trying to patch it afterwards. It is a respectful move.
Why has Outerdawn forsaken us I hear you wail, crumpling to the floor and tearing out your hair. Well, the developers claim that they are acting on the feedback from their beta players on the last batch of updates. They received a string of much-requested changes and are planning to implement them for launch. In other words, they are using beta testers for what they are for.
On the plus side, this extra development time will also be used by the team to prepare more post-launch content, such as dungeons and new heroes. One of these is the Mercenary, as demonstrated in the trailer above. It doesn't show us anything in terms of gameplay, but he looks pretty badass it has to be said, taking a sword through the torso and walking away.
Let's also not forget the silver lining to a delayed launch; more time to reach the pre-registration bonuses. If Grimguard Tactics hits the coveted 600,000 pre-orders, every player will be walking away with the Legendary Dawnseeker Arbiter hero. A very nice way to start your war against the dark forces.
Grimguard Tactics is available to pre-order from the App Store and Google Play, ahead of its revised release date of October 23rd.
