Fairly recently it felt like there were a lot of videos on YouTube featuring those identity check border control sims where you work at a post and make sure everyone coming through is correct. They clearly have appeal, and they look pretty fun, so it’s excellent news that Bitzooma Game Studio has announced the launch of Black Border 2.

Bitzooma is hoping to build off the success of their first game, Black Border Patrol Sim, which managed to rack up over 2 million users. You undertook the role of, as might have guessed, a border officer, tasked with ensuring that every passenger coming through has the correct name, height and weight as documented.

As well as this you had to frisk potential entrants, looking for weapons, illegal items, and chips. If anyone failed any of your checks, it was off to jail with them. Or at least, turning them away and costing them a random amount in gas money.

Black Border 2 will bring back what players loved about the original, putting you back as the big bad border blocker, but with a few twists. First up is the new storyline, weaving interesting narratives throughout your day, with difficult decisions popping up when you least expect them. Turning away that distressed applicant might have some consequences later on.

You will come toe to toe with tougher inspections and even more complex cases, with the likes of smuggling rings and even more intense scenarios rearing their heads. The characters in the game use dynamic AI, reacting appropriately depending on your actions, so you may need to watch your back.

You can preorder Black Border 2 now from Google Play ahead of its September 22nd release. Apple players will need to wait until October 26th for their opportunity to pick it up from the App Store.
