The card game Uno has been around and stayed popular for decades for one simple reason; it is incredibly good fun. It would not be a lie to say I've spent a lot of time on UNO Mobile because it is such a great recreation. Luckily, Mattel163 has recently kicked off some quite lucrative tournaments for fans much more skilled than I.
Dubbed Ring Royale, this tournament puts a lot more at stake than the lifelong friendship you've had with your buddy if you +4 them one too many times. If you have the skills to become the UNO Mobile champion you have net yourself exclusive 3D animated rings, in-game decorations and effort, and up to 160,000 coins. Pretty enticing stuff.
The tournament takes place across ten rounds of real-time matches and is available at any time you feel like sticking your money where your mouth is. There are two arenas to enter; the Amethyst and Ruby Tier. They each have their own unique animated ring and customised rewards to enjoy.
You can tackle this tournament solo, facing off against three other players per round until you emerge at the top of the pile, or you can go another route. The tournaments are 2v2 compatible, so you can bring along a friend on your hunt for victory. Nothing makes a friendship stronger than crushing other players together.
More than the rewards, if you play well enough you can climb through two tournament-exclusive ranks; Elite Master and Supreme Master. They both have five levels each and pack special titles and game-opening effects, which if you start using will no doubt clear the table in five seconds flat.
To enter this tournament, you need to be in Legend Tier, which is a bit insane. Luckily Mattel realised that was mental and is allowing some more players of lower tiers to join. These include the top player in Professional, the top player in Expert, the top two in Elite, and the top three in Master. Back to grinding rank points for me.
UNO Mobile is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
