We only have a short amount of time with Halloween before Christmas comes and ruins our shopping trips for an awful length of time, so let's make the most of it and look at anything vaguely ghoulish. To this end, RuneScape has begun its Harvest Hollow Halloween Event, and yes it took me three times to say that properly.

Until November 4th you can take part in three weeks of frightful fun, including the titular Harvest Hollow. This dark place is stuffed full of pumpkins, candles, campfires, and, for some reason, tentacles. To tackle this unusual obstacle and more, you will team up with one of the Five Horsemen, of the imaginatively named Horsemen clan.

In the Field of Screams event, it will be your turn to be the big bad, travelling Gielinor and frightening the festive spirit into a cast of familiar faces. You will tackle a series of challenges set by The Horsemen clan to show that you are the arbiter of scary and that your passion for Halloween runs deep.

If you fancy a slightly more laid-back task, then you can take on the Maize Maze. This Agility-skill-filled monstrosity will see you hunting down implings before doing battle with three different bosses. Knock each of them down and you’ll earn Spooky Tokens, Clan Confections, and Boss Drops.

Each week there will be a ceremony to honour the players who contribute the most of these Confections to the Clan, so get grinding for glory. There is also a host of seasonal activities to help you level your Archaeology, Thieving, Summoning, and rather fittingly, Prayer skills. 

The fashion-conscious out there can enjoy a host of new and returning goodies, including Horsemen Uniforms, the Ring of Frank, Frank’s Shield, Reaper Masks, Boss Pet Skins, and two new pets in the shape of Spirit of Harvest Scythe and Horses the Chicken.
