There are many reasons to look forward to December, including religious holidays, ice skating, and the occasional snow, but for me, I am looking forward to Warframe: 1999. It is now officially the next Warframe expansion, and it looks amazing. Thanks to the launch of a demo, we can all get a taste of the action.
To keep the good news rolling, all you need to do to access this demo is to finish the Awakening and Vor’s Prize tutorial quests. After that, head to the main ship’s fight deck and interact with the new infested terminal. This will transport you to the street of Höllvania, and then the fun can begin.
Here you will step into the shoes of the Hex’s leader, Arthur, in his shiny Excalibur protoframe. Through this infested urban hellscape you will be cutting your way through the new enemy faction, the Scaldra, at least you will be if you can tear yourself off the Attmoicycle for long enough. Complete this demo before 1999’s launch and you will net yourself the Protokol Longsword Skin.
You can get a look at this skin, as well as a few sneaks at the gameplay and story hints, by viewing the Official Playable Demo Release Trailer on YouTube, all set to the music of Nine Inch Nails whom I didn't know was still a thing. Anyway, Dr Entrati continues to make himself a nuisance, and Arthur wants some open roads for his bike, so it is almost time for business.
During TennoCon 2024, or any subsequent stream re-watches, you no doubt would have noticed the Atimocycle’s rather awesome official theme; The Call. This is now available to listen to on YouTube, Apple, Spotify, and more in its entirety. I think we can safely assume between this and Party of Your Lifetime, 1999 is going to have one hell of a soundtrack.
Rounding off with some spooky news, there are some new cosmetics available in the Warframe Market to celebrate the Nights of Naberus season events. This includes the Lycanblight Syandana backpiece and shoulder armour, and the Charger Liset ship skin. All good, but mostly you will want to grab Warframe from the App Store for that 1999 demo now.
