We all know that Halloween is coming up, as are the assorted winter holidays and New Year's, but none of them hold a candle to what else is happening soon! It’s that time of year when we all get to scream and shout about our favourite games from the past year; it is time for the 2024 Pocket Gamer Awards.

Nominations have officially opened, and there are 20 categories to put your votes in for. And it is truly important that you do, as the contenders will all be decided by public vote. That’s right, even if we at Steel Media venomously disagree with your choices, there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. Even if you are incredibly wrong and don't vote for Athena Crisis. Mob rules.

There is one rule to keep in mind, however. Your choice needs to be a mobile game that released between October 1st 2023, and September 30th 2024. Other than that, it is an open playing field, and there have been some belters released in the past year. Resident Evil 4 and Hades made the jump over, Zenless Zone Zero was finally released, and Ironhide continued their tower defence domination with Kingdom Rush 5: Alliance.

You can throw your options in for Strategy, Puzzle, Action Game of the Year, Best eSports, Best Roblox and more. But it isn’t just about the games, Steel Media want to honour the brains behind the products. So why not nominate the Best Community you have found or the Best Mobile Developer?

Take your time and throw in as many choices for categories as you like, as the Nomination stage will last all the way until October 31st. After that, the behind-the-scenes brainboxes will tally the scores, create the shortlists, and open the Voting stage. This will last until the end of November, culminating in the final live event to reveal the results on December 6th. There will be winners, losers, and cake, but I can’t promise that last one.
