We are in that wildly uncomfortable period now with Warframe after Kourmei and the Five Fates but before 1999 where all we can do is sit around impatiently. Digital Extremes is here to help smooth that transition though, with a new Prime Access, as well as the return of a much-requested feature.
Our new and shiny Prime this time will be that amalgamated hotpot of three long-forgotten Warframes; Xaku. Originally this trio of warriors acted as beneficiates of the Entrati family until they were mysteriously lost in the Void. Now they return as one, an anomaly never before seen in the Origin System.
There is no other way to put it; Xaku is a menace on the battlefield. They can spew Void Tendrils to steal enemies' weapons to use against them, rotate through the three abilities of its combined Warframes to manipulate enemies' perception of reality, and also explode their shells to deal big damage whilst turning into a superfast skeleton. I don’t know about you but if I saw that, I’d run.
You can pick up this unique glitch in the System by crafting them in the Foundry, of course. To complete the set, you can also pick up the Warfan Quassus Prime and Rifle Trumna Prime. Not only this but new cosmetic items have also been released, including the Artifex Syandana and the Necra Operator suit.
Always ones to listen to their fans, Digital Extremes have heard the cries for the Höllvania Central Mall hub area to return, and return it has! If you never visited now is the time ahead of the launch of Warframe: 1999, which is finally oh so close.
Here you are able to meet other players, explore the headquarters of The Hex, and dance away to the music of On-lyne, the in-universe fictional boyband. And they may be fictional, but their song, Party of Your Lifetime, is genuinely a bop. All the music for 1999 has been so far, but this truly stands out.
The hub will remain in-game until December 6th, so download Warframe from the App Store before you miss out.
