I am going to sum this article up in one word and then we can all get on with our day; AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! The fated day is upon us, as finally, 14 Hours Productions has announced the launch of Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago for mobile devices. A blessed day indeed.
If you don’t know what Yolk Heroes is, clearly you are new around here, I have mentioned and covered it as many times as I could get away with. But, we shall recap! Yolk Heroes cast you as the Guardian Spirit of a land in grave danger, and you are tasked by the Fairy Queen to raise elven heroes to combat the Frog Lord.
The gameplay is a meld of Idle RPG and digital-pet sim, as you take your elven warrior from egg to hero. You will be in charge of training them, maintaining them, and then when they are ready, sending them into brutal combat. They can improve their strength, dexterity, and intelligence to improve their lot in fights and take on a myriad of jobs. These include Samurai, Mage, Paladin, and more.
Out in the wild, your fighter will encounter such amusing monsters as Disco Dragons, Sand Witches, and Golfing Goblins. After completing a quest your companion will unlock new equipment, level up, and earn gold. You can then rob your quasi-child of their hard-earned cash and spend it on goods, more gear, and even stat-enhancing potions.
Just like in true Tamagotchi fashion, your elves' lives will continue without you, but in this case, you have much more control. Five tasks can be queued up for your heroes to tackle when you are away, allowing for the ultimate convenience. And also proves that Yolk Heroes should have launched on mobile way before PC. It just fits, what were they thinking?
Yolk Heroes: A Long Tamago is available from the App Store and Google Play.
