When we got our first look at Go Go Muffin, I was instantly convinced it would be a perfect entry-level MMORPG. The developers have pedigree, it looks welcoming and non-threatening, you have some idle features, and so on. Well, now we can see if I was right, as Go Go Muffin has now launched.

Created by the minds behind Ragnarok and published by XD Games, Go Go Muffin is a wholesome, lighthearted take on the MMORPG genre. You will inhabit a colourful world of adorable critters called Melomons, who will be your constant companions through thick and thin.

There will be a myriad of battles to face, so your class choice is vital. There are five to choose from covering all manner of attack options. Swordbearers will be up close and personal, tanking hits and supporting allies. Scholars are your magic wielders who excel at AoE attacks, whereas Wayfarers prefer the bow. Shadowlash are stealthy rogues, and finally, Acolytes are those beloved healers we all need.

Further down the line, you can start tackling some tougher challenges. The Dragon Bounty is a DPS-focused battle where you must avoid being blown to pieces by explosions as you destroy the dragon. Perform well and climb the leaderboard. Or team up with three friends and take on the Rifts, where interrupting a boss’s skill at the right moment is the key to victory.

It is not all fighting of course. You can join guilds with your friends, chill out together around the campfire, or craft new gear together. There is also the option to just set yourself to idle mode and throw your phone away, safe in the knowledge that your character will still be getting stronger.
