Just in case playing a tactical turn-based RPG wasn’t taxing enough on the old noggin, XD Inc has gone and thrown in some new investigation gameplay into Sword of Convallarias’ latest update. Night Crimson will bring you this fresh way to play, as well as some familiar yet even more powerful faces.
This next instalment of the Spital of Destinies campaign will give you a whole new glimpse into Waverun City. You will come face to face with an investigative clue wall, which will inject some detective and education elements into your regular tactical battles. The Mobile Squad strategic leader, Safiyyah, will dispatch you on these sleuthing escapades.
Good news for fans of any particular squad member, Night Crimson will introduce a new version of units; SP Characters. There are special forms of an existing fighter but with a special twist. They hail from a different time period, complete with a different appearance and a fresh suite of combat skills.
From January 3rd you can pick up SP Rawiyah, with SP Taair following quickly behind on the 17th. If you are feeling a little grumpy that you already have these particular characters, fear not! Owning the original version and the SP will unlock an exclusive SP skill, along with a power boost for both.
If you want to take a peek behind the curtain, there will be some special extras for you to check out. A developer's insights notes will give you some insight into the game's future, the Japanese VA for Safiyyah has recorded a video message, and you can listen to Never Apart, a new theme tune by Hikasa Yoko.
Until Night Crimson launches later this week, you still have time to complete the currently ongoing in-game events that started December 20th. Finishing these will reward you with helpful items such as Secret Fates and legendary trinkets. You can also spend this time preparing your squad for The Waverun Tournament set to kick off on January 3rd. Here you can amass event points to trade for exclusive items and avatar frames.
