My biggest criticism of Honkai: Star Rail is that the writers keep revisiting the same old areas and locations. Version 3.0 aims to fix this with the introduction of a brand new world; Amphoreus. We will also be enjoying the longest story arc to date, spanning eight versions up until 3.7.
The Astral Express is following Black Swan to Amphoreus in search of Trailblaze Fuel and, of course, adventure. The inhabitants are unaware of life outside their world, worshipping deities dubbed Titans instead of the Aeons. Three of these - Strife, Death, and Trickery - triggered a civil war among the gods, causing the deadly black tide to sweep over everything.
There will be a lot of places and people to experience here, including meeting Mem. This mysterious creature can only make a mem sound, hence their nickname, and can be summoned in battle. They will gain energy each turn, finally using Mem’s Support when full. This will cause a designated character to immediately take an action and deal additional True DMG.
To help in this new environment you can recruit two new five-star heroes. We will finally get to meet the woman behind the puppets and the Emanator of Erudition, as The Herta reveals herself. She deals stacks of Interpretation during battle, increasing her damage dealt, and can fire off a deadly Ice AoE with her ultimate.
Are second heo is the Amphoreus native Aglaea. She is the first limited character of the Remembrance path, summoning the memorsprite Garmentmaker in battles. Aglaea and her friend deal synchronised damage to foes in a dance of destruction, with this mechanic also increasing Garmentmaker’s SPD for more attacks.
The first half of Version 3.0 will also see Lingsha, Feixiao, and Jade making returns in a special Warp, followed by Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf in the second half. During this version, you can also claim a free Preservation outfit for March 7th by visiting the Characters menu.
Honkai: Star Rail is available to download from the App Store and Google Play, with Version 3.0 launchingon January 15th.
