Some days it is incredibly difficult to choose what news to cover; we have a lot of interesting games to discuss and I love to ramble. Once in a while though when you scan the press releases, you see a title such as Duck Detective: The Secret Salami, and the choice is so very obvious.
The names just keep getting better, as Duck Detective is born from publishers Snapbreak Games, and indie studio Happy Broccoli Games. I don’t think we need to cover anything else about this. It is coming to mobile this year. Everybody, get out your cards and let's quack this case. I regret nothing.
Duck Detective: The Secret Salami was originally released back in May 2024 on PC and consoles, but it sounds like one of those experiences best suited for mobile. It will take you around two or three hours, perfect for whipping out on one of those restless nights or if you fancy a spot of lunchtime sleuthing, while eating duck pancakes for delicious irony.
You will be stepping into the shoes, yes the duck wears shoes which makes it better, of the un-esteemed Eugene McQuacklin. He is a down-on-his-luck detective, which immediately puts me in mind of a noir setting and makes me love it more. You will, of course, be on the hunt for the secret salami.
Throughout this comedy adventure, you will sniff around crime scenes finding evidence and examining for clues. There will also be ample opportunity to interrogate a cast of creatures, all fully voice-acted. Sometimes you will be able to break your target with nothing more than a cold, duck stare. Note though, its localised in English only.
Duck Detective: The Secret Salami is available to pre-order from the App Store and Google Play, with a set release date of April 9th.
