Ragnarok comes to Ark: Survival Evolved Mobile Edition and every other map is now redundant

I am a very simple man who I realise would be very easy to trap; you say something Norse, I come running, and get caught in a box. Or, in the case of Ark: Survival Evolved Mobile Edition, get eaten by Viking Dinosaurs as the Ragnarok expansion map has arrived. P.S. Grove Street Games and Studio Wildcard, add actual Viking Dinosaurs.

There is also an event currently happening, so let's address that so I can talk about that map more. Love Evolved is running until February 16th and features limited cosmetics, as well as boosted rates for harvesting, taming, experience and, rather fittingly, breeding. There are even Valentine’s candy and chocolates to collect and then offer to your favourite dinosaur, who will instantly eat you because prehistoric beasts don’t observe our holidays you silly fool.

So happy, happy, love love love, all warm fuzzies there. Now, Ragnarok! This beast of a map spawls over 144 square kilometres, making The Island look puny. It is of course named after the end of times in Norse mythology, which is exactly what you will be facing here with the likes of Spirit Direwolves, Dire Polar Bears, and volcanos all coming together to give you a hellish time. Also, Beaver Dams, are full of the dreaded beaver menace.

Rather interestingly, in the original release, you could carry tamed creatures and items from official Ragnarok servers back over to The Island. There was one exception, however; polar bears. That is because of course polar bears prefer living near an active volcano. Everybody knows this. So, put together your Viking raid of creatures from Ragnarok, and then invade The Island in style.

Ark: Survival Evolved Mobile Edition is available to download from the App Store and Google Play. Ragnarok itself will cost you one eye, or $2.99 if you don’t have the fortitude of Odin.
