Wuthering Waves has released its latest update bringing us to Version 2.1, Waves Sing and the Cerulean Bird Calls, and this is both excellent and terrible news. Good because we can recruit new friends, enjoy more stories, and explore extra regions. What's sad is that the Roccia Convene is now gone so I can’t get her weapon anymore—a tragedy of epic proportions.
Continuing my own personal woes, the Shorekeeper still has not returned to be summoned. Instead, we have one sole banner for the five-star Phoebe to pull on. She is a Specro fighter whose kit is geared to apply Spectro Frazzle to foes, a damage-over-time stacker. Beyond this, she can also do some pretty serious direct damage.
After recruiting Phoebe and picking up her weapon for good measure, it is time to strike out into the newly unveiled Riccioli Islands and Vault Underground. If you are looking for a challenge, we have a slew of Events to take part in. These include the Old Man and The Whale fishing challenge, Tactical Simulacra III for those combat inclined, and a co-op Overdash named Apex Ragunna.
In terms of miscellaneous optimizations, there is one that we have been wanting for a long time, or at least I have, and that is saveable Echo Presets. Most noticeably an issue when you switch your Rovers element, we can now save and apply Echo lineups. There is also an Echo Recommendation option for your Resonators and a few new toys in the Camera feature.
Speaking of Echoes’, we of course have a few more to add to the collection. Rage Against the Statue, Hurriclaw, Aero Prism, Golden Junrock, and Calcified Junrock will be roaming the wilderness waiting to be caught. For those fashion-conscious out there, there is also a Phantom: Lorelei variant available to find.
Wuthering Waves is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
