4 mobile stealth games that are just as good as Dishonored 2

It’s a pretty sneaky week on consoles, what with Dishonored 2 and Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection stealthily swooping their way onto those big black boxes we all have stuck under out TVs. But it’s not just consoles that do stealth gaming well. Oh me oh my no. There’s plenty to choose from on mobile as well. If only someone was content savvy enough to create a list of them… Oh. Wait. I am. So here’s a list of some of the best stealth games that money can buy on mobile. You might agree. You might disagree. You might not care. Whichever path you choose though, make sure you’re loud and vociferous about it in the comments. Republique Okay so…

Watch gaming, lovely pixels, and bad-ass badminton - AppSpy's Sunday Service

It's AppSpy's Sunday Service, a short dose of mobile and tablet gaming to kick off your Sunday. The Big Stories 1. This is what we think of the Apple Watch. 2. We've got your first look at Zodiac. 3. The trailer for Jump Smash 15 is so incredibly epic, especially for a game about badminton. 4. Nubs' Adventure is a delightful explore-em-up. 5. We went hands-on with Swing Racers. AppSpy Recommends Empires & Allies is Clash of Clans by way of Command & Conquer, and we're totally okay with that. We went hands-on with the game a while back, but it's now gone global on the App Store, and early signs indicate it's just as moreish as we thought it would be. More on Empires & A…

GEOFF is here, and we have the world exclusive first look. 2. Gasp! We reviewed 3DS game The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. 3. This is how to play Bayonetta on your iPhone (well, kind of...) 4. Beat the Beat is a shmup in which the enemies move and fire to the rhythm of the dubstep soundtrack. 5. There's a new Fast & Furious game in soft-launch. This is what it looks like. AppSpy Recommends Radiation Island is a first person survival game that borrows elements of Rust, Day-Z, and Minecraft, and blend…

9 must-see real life versions of mobile video games, featuring Surgeon Sim, Candy Crush, Clash of Clans, and more

Have you ever finished playing a game and been so into it that you can't stop thinking about it, even in day-to-day life? I have. There was a whole week after playing Assassin's Creed where every rooftop looked like a potential escape route from any angry Borgias I might run into while wondering around Bristol city centre. A bunch of other people clearly have too, as they've gone ahead and created real world versions of some of their favourite games. And these are 9 of the very best... Subway Surfers - A great video, one heck of an ending. Crossy Road - Do not try this at home folks. Angry Birds - This one gets bonus points for being interactive. Clash of Clans - I wouldn't want…

Our top 10 most watched videos of 2014

We're looking back at 2014 a lot at the moment - it's awards season, after all - and part of that process is seeing what kind of videos were wildly popular on our YouTube channel this past year. Big name games feature heavily in our most watched top 10, with a couple of PC / console ports representing the world of traditional gaming in a major way. But mobile-only or "best on mobile" game reviews, graphic comparisons, and hands-on previews dominate: from massive military shooters, to fluffy but frightening favourites. I wonder if there are any conclusions that could be drawn about you lot that visit AppSpy every day? Except that you're lovely, obvs. BioShock Hands-On Modern Combat 5:…

Hands-on with Stealth, where you're a ninja quietly shanking bad dudes

Metal Gear. Tenchu. Assassin's Creed. Splinter Cell. These are all great examples of stealth action games, and Stealth reminds me a great deal of the first two titles. Stealth is top-down, slow-paced, your inventory can be quite limited, and to succeed you'll need to figure out the patterns of the patrols of the guards. Here's a sneaky early look.…

The Question

The Question

Hello there loyal Appspy readers! It’s another Monday and it is of course time for another question. Last week there was a new iPhone announcement, and along with it came a plethora of game trailers for upcoming releases (with Infinity Blade III being revealed at the keynote speech itself). With such franchises as Trials, Rayman, and Assassin’s Creed on their way to iOS (and no doubt more announcements to come), my question for you is a simple one this week. Which game slated for release before the end of the year are you most excited for? Let us know in the comments, and i’ll let you know my pick at the end of the week. With luck, there might be even more developments b…

Prince of Persia® The Shadow and the Flame Review

Prince of Persia® The Shadow and the Flame Review

Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame certainly looks the part. The ancient dungeons and booby-trapped palaces from the 1993 original have been handsomely fleshed out with an extra dimension for this iOS remake. Our gymnastic hero has apparently been hanging out with the Forgotten Sands-era prince, and has learned a few of the youngster’s acrobatic moves, including a natty backflip. He also engages in swordplay, which echoes the wait-and-parry system found in the Ubisoft&rsq…
