Test your endless running skills in Presidents Run, available now for iOS and Android
President's Run is a light-hearted endless runner that sees players choosing their favourite political candidates, past and present, and seeing how many votes they can gather. It had a surge in popularity during the 2012 elections where the global leaderboards predicted the eventual winner in Obama. This year then players will naturally be able to play as Joe Biden and Donald Trump but there are also other choices available too. It's not intended to be taken too seriously so players can also play as non-US political figures such as Vladimir Putin, Jacinda Ardern and Kim Jung Un. Beyond that, Zombie Washington and Frankenstein Lincoln are also potential candidates. The aim isn't to make a…

The problem is, Beta is quite fragile, and once struck by any enemy or obstacle, you’ll find Beta in pieces. That's definitely an issue when you're tasked with jumping, running and using power-ups to blast…
Calibria Crystal Guardians’ hero star levels explained
Hero collecting RPG Calibria: Crystal Guardians is going strong two months on from its launch on iOS and Android devices, and for newcomers to the fold, it’s helpful to understand how the game’s character tiers work before diving in head-first. Each hero is assigned a star level of between one and six, but what does that mean? Well, one star or two-star heroes, such as Wood Elementals and Imps, are basically the "enhance food" for higher star level heroes, although they have their uses in the game’s early battles. There are many useful assist type three-star heroes, while four-star heroes are the ones with lofty potential. You can train them up to lead your team and eve…

illo: Help the Armadillo Escape is a globetrotting runner with a cool aesthetic
illo: Help the Armadillo Escape is a newly released runner from Spanish indie developer Mar Carballo. It sees you playing as a highflying armadillo, who escapes the back of a poacher's van to begin a globetrotting adventure. You'll see a variety of beautiful locations on your trip, including Zarautz, Madrid, Bilbao, and Piravik in Norway. Gameplay is a mix of fast-paced platforming and intense runner action, with you having to avoid touching the ground at all costs. As you progress, you'll unlock new skills and upgrades with which to traverse the environment. I really like its distinctive aesthetic and general art design, though I have to wonder if we'll see more colours other than blue…

Please, Touch the Artwork is an inventive puzzler inspired by the work of iconic artists
Please, Touch the Artwork is an intriguing puzzler from developer Studio Waterzooi. What makes it stand out is that its minigames are each themed around a specific painting or art movement. The initial three will draw from the work of Piet Mondrian, known for being one of the pioneers of abstract art. The first puzzle is inspired by Mondrian's 'Composition with Red Blue and Yellow'. It's described by the developer as a game of trial and error, where you'll gradually work to understand its rules. This is intended as a metaphor for the creative process, with the artist trialling different techniques before eventually landing on a satisfying result. It all looks very stylish and different,…
Save the Turtles! is a cute little game with a great environmental message
Updated 06/01/2020: Game is now live over on Google Play. Original story continues below... Save the Turtles! is a cute but tricky game about skillfully removing plastics from a fast-moving body of water. It comes to us from indie developer Philip Pounds, whose first game, Blackhole Falling!, was a platformer of sorts about guiding your dinky avatar out of a black hole. Philip's latest game boasts an appealing pixel art aesthetic inspired by the 16-bit era. Its soundtrack is pretty chilled, with the intended vibe being South Florida/Key West, which I think it achieves rather well. Gameplay sees you tapping your screen to remove plastics from the water, and your score will contin…

NetEase's fun, anime-inspired Super Mecha Champions has added a new character as part of its latest update. Mila is voiced by Yui Makino of Gundam Build Fighters Try and Tsubasa Chronicle fame. Sure, she might not appear particularly threatening, but she packs a devastating punch with her heavy armour mecha by her side. The Christmas update turns the SMC battlefield into a winter wonderland. The Caramel and Doomlight are now looking all festive, and you can also expect to see new skins for Mira and Joanna. The biggest addition here might be the new Training Ground mode. This lets you get some pre-battle training in using any of the mechas, guns, or weapons you want. It gives you a chanc…
