Capcom took Danny out for a Monster Hunter themed meal, he videod himself eating weird food / getting tanked
Being in the games press you often get invites to lavish dinners and gala events and other such stuff. Usually we don't go in for that sort of thing - the promise of a few drinks and a plate full of chips isn't enough to drag us away from our gaming devices - but Capcom asked if we wanted to eat from a menu of Monster Hunter delicacies. So we sent our Danny to "investigate". Part 1: Mega Potion Part 2: Kezhu Saliva & Fresh Kirin Tears Part 3: Gore Magala Tail, Feeler, Crystalised Frenzy Jelly & Grated Parashroom Part 4: Kushala Daora Steak, Eye Lens, Carapace Piece, Dragon Treasure & Blood Part 5: Psychoserum Part 6: Wyvern Scale Sushi - Rath…

Learn how to play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite with AppSpy - Part 2
In the first episode we ran into serious trouble with pink apes. In this episode it's a gigantic boar that becomes a thorn in our sides. It's always something, isn't it? We're better prepared this time though, and we've brought with us not just hot drinks, but cold ones too. Harry also made us wear clothes (which is only fair, I guess), and this has greatly increased our resilience to the monstrous nasties that inhabit the sprawling world of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. So grab a hot or cold drink of your own, get comfortable, and click play on the video below, to continue learning how to play Capcom's beastie-basher for iOS. Miss the last episode? You know what's brilliant? Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is brilliant. We've got a review that says as much. But it's also dense. Very very very very dense. Because of this combination of challenge and quality, we called it "a slow, difficult, but rewarding crawl to greatness". So if you're new to the Monster Hunter series it can be a little off-putting to begin with, as you die again and again not quite understanding where you should be going, or what you should be doing, once you get there. Enter AppSpy, and an intrepid team of Monster Hunter players with varying levels of skill. Together we're going to teach you the ropes of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, as we ourselves learn them, and…
Hands-on with Street Fighter X All Capcom, the ultimate Capcom crossover card battler
Here is a small list of some of the games with characters appearing in Street Fighter X All Capcom; Lost Planet, Viewtiful Joe, Asura's Wrath, Ghost Trick, Darkstalkers, Okami, Ace Attorney, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Final Fight, and Street Fighter. So yeah, being a Capcom mega-fan, of course I had to do a quick hands-on with this currently Japan-only card battler. And here it is...…
Monster Hunter Explore is coming to iOS and Android in 2015
Monster Hunter Explore is a game about battling monsters, finding treasures and artefacts, and then battling bigger monsters than the monsters you fought before. It's free-to-play, is coming to iOS and Android, will be available in 2015, and I'm incredibly keen to see more. Now here's where things get a bit hazy: Monster Hunter Explore is set to be a "re-born" version of Monster Hunter Smart, a Japan-only release on iOS. How exactly it's going to be "re-born" is a bit of a mystery. And here's where things get a bit disappointing: the Capcom rep I reached out to for information on a Western release for Monster Hunter Explore stated that currently "this title is confirmed only for Japan".…

Resident Evil invades zombie CCG RPG Deadman's Cross
Square Enix's zombie-styled collectible card game Deadman's Cross has just received an extra dose of undead. Thanks to a collaboration with Capcom, Resident Evil cards and quests are being added to the game for a limited time. Deadman’s Cross battles are the typical CCG fare, with the card combat linked by first-person hunts through the 3D world of New Livingstone. Now Raccoon City is being added to the list of areas available for you to stalk through. Along with the new environment, this crossover features a host of other Resident Evil themed extras. Cards featuring monsters from the Resident Evil series are available for you to collect and battle with, including the iconic N…
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is spotted in the wilds of the App Store, has large bounty on its head
We've known Monster Hunter Freedom Unite would be coming to iOS for some time now, but the question on our lips has always been "when"? "Now!" is the answer, as the title is currently available in App Stores the world over. And that's good news, because we've been more than a little keen to get our hands on it ever since we played it at E3. The original was released on PSP in 2008, and this new iOS version features improved visuals, automatic targeting of monsters in combat, and support for MiFi controllers. Of particular interest to us is the online co-op multiplayer with upto three other players, as we're totally up for forming a party, trekking out into the wilderness, and hunting m…
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS is coming to the US App Store
Capcom’s Monster Hunter series has always been popular in Japan, but has struggled to make the transition to western markets. Now, having been out in its home territory for some time, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS is making its way to to other markets. Monster Hunter is an apt title for a series that has you hunt, trap, and kill monsters for the valuable materials they offer. These can then be crafted to form more powerful equipment in order to hunt larger creatures. The satisfying feedback loop this provides is further enhanced by the multiplayer aspect, in which hunting larger game requires you to work as a team - all fulfilling different roles in the hunt. The series' pop…
