Chaser Tracer is a synthwave arcade sensation hitting Android and iOS on April 14

Adkiworks' synthwave arcade game, Chaser Tracer, is coming to mobile platforms next week, and it looks tantalising. Some people listen to lo-fi beats when they work, others dial into ambience or vaporware. Others listen to synthwave, the electronic-based music genre synonymous with hot neon and scorching sunsets - like a cyberpunk Miami from both 2077 and 1987. If you're one of the latter then Chaser Tracer might well be one for you to keep an eye out for. It's a score-chasing arcade game stuffed to the brim with music actually made on synths from the era - including the Yamaha DX-7 and CS-80; Roland Jupiter-8, TR-808, and TR-909; and Sequential Prophet-5. But, where the game is different…

Struckd, the free mobile game creation and sharing platform, now has over a million games

We're starting to hear more and more about 'metaverse' style platforms where players can not only play a lot of user-created content but also create their own games and experiences. Platforms like HiberWorld, Roblox and Dreams each keep hitting new milestones. One that doesn't necessarily get talked about much is Struckd. That's due to change soon, with it just surpassing one million games created within its ecosystem. First-person shooters, racing games and aRPGs are among the variety of games that have been created using the platform, which we originally saw back at our Big Indie Pitch during Gamescom 2016.  It's incredibly intuitive, with a simple drag-drop interface that fits to…

Addition of Oregon Trail, Fantasian, Wonderbox and more brings Apple Arcade library over 180 games

With the addition of 32 new games, all dropped simultaneously on April 2nd, Apple Arcade now has over 180 games. It's now been 18 months since Apple launched their gaming subscription service, Apple Arcade, and - from the outside - it's seemed like a little bit of a bumpy ride. It was clear that the subscription service, which works out $4.99 a month, had been in the works for quite some time, but despite that, it took quite some time before we finally had our hands on every title which was revealed alongside the service. Games like Overland, Hitchhiker and The Pathless were revealed in late 2019, but some of these didn't within land in the first year of the product being on the market.&nbs…

Farkle Safari, Polyworks Games’ indie dice adventure, lets you do your part to save animals in real life

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to engage in an intense dice game with a stingray under the sea? It may sound too ridiculous to be true, but Farkle Safari lets you do just that (virtually) and help conserve wildlife at the same time. Polyworks Games not only helps you see the sights for anyone who’s been bitten by the travel bug, but it also lets you play Farkle from the safety and comfort of your own home - and against different animals in the wild, at that. Farkle Safari was first released earlier this year, but the free-to-play game is still a delight to play as we head into the second quarter of 2021 - mainly because doing your part to conserve wildlife is always co…
