Surviving in Minecraft: Pocket Edition, Episode 2 - Making Fire

As a complete newbie to Minecraft: PE, I've found that even basic human needs are often a struggle to fulfill. And also: what happened to Bertie? Did he survive the cold hard night? Find out in the video below.…

Minecraft - Pocket Edition receives infinite worlds in 0.9.0 update

There is something quite poetic about the way Minecraft - Pocket Edition has you incrementally building a world, while Mojang incrementally bolts on extras to the game around you. However, now it seems that the company has pulled out all the stops with the massive 0.9.0 update, bringing the mobile game's feature set far closer to its PC and console cousins. The most exciting of these changes is that Minecraft - Pocket Edition now features infinite worlds. If you're counting, that's a lot of worlds. Its not just hills and plains for as far as the eye can see either, because 0.9.0 brings a vast range of new environmental features. These include caves, mine-shafts, lakes, and villages f…

Supernauts Review

Where Supernauts differs from other free-to-play world-building games like Clash of Clans or The Sims Freeplay, is that it doesn’t constrain your creativity with set structures. Instead it lets you make whatever you desire on your tiny world from a series of blocks, essentially taking the freedom of Minecraft, and applying it in a free-to-play context. The game takes place on an asteroid. Controlling your Supernaut you use the "zapper" - a device with a wonderfully '70…

Block Fortress: War will be knocking your block off tonight on the App Store

Much like previous Block Fortress titles, Block Fortress: War - which set to land on the App Store tonight - borrows the Minecraft aesthetic, and repurposes in the name of violence. The latest entry in the series is a fast-paced intergalactic tower-defence game in which you battle five alien races in your efforts to rule the galaxy. Each of the game's races has their own weapons and heroes, all of which bring their own strengths and weaknesses to the battlefield.  The tower-defence gameplay also features real-time strategy elements, with capture and control points helping to turn the flow of battle. Capturing these hotspots allow you to build additional upgrades and weapons ou…

Bigger worlds and cute puppies coming to Minecraft – Pocket Edition

Whether you spend your time in Minecraft - Pocket Edition building tall towers or excavating mines, the promise of new content is always good news. Good news, then, as Mojang has just confirmed that the next big update for Minecraft - Pocket Edition is on its way to iOS. The update will focus on improving the game's code, allowing the game to generate even bigger worlds for you to explore. The Pocket Team is also working on a host of other tweaks, including improved AI, an updated inventory system, and new animals. This announcement also came with some bad news for beta testers of Pocket: Realms, the new Minecraft service designed to improve online play. It turns out that testing for th…
