Tin Man Games brings a wealth of gamebooks to iOS with Fighting Fantasy Classics

Interactive fiction has been a near constant on mobile, from the larger projects like 80 Days to the message-driven stories such as Lifeline. But before they were digital, gamebooks were the physical embodiment of the genre, combining text with stats and dice rools. We've seen expanded adaptations such as the isometric Warlock of Firetop Mountain, but the newly released Fighting Fantasy Classics offers mobile gamers to experience those original stories in text adventure fashion on iOS. Ranging from fan-favorites such as The Forest of Doom and the aforementioned Firetop Mountain to Bloodbones, Fighting Fantasy Classics lets you enjoy the dice rolls, page-turning decisions, and tons of text…

With To Be or Not To Be, Tin Man Games channels its inner simian to warp Hamlet into a surreal and irreverent Gamebook.Check out the trailer below to discover just why Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are the guys to be with on a party cruise.…

The top 5 gamebooks like 80 Days on Android

80 Days has flown around the world on iOS and has finally made its final stop on Android. You'll know that much already because you'll be playing it as I speak, I'm sure. So what we've come up with is a list of alternatives on Android to help you fend off that cold turkey feeling. 1. Banner Saga Banner Saga isn't strictly a gamebook but definitely takes influence from them during the more talky-bits and for that reason it has to make this cut. As far as I'm converned, any reason to promote Banner Saga is a good one. 2. Joe Dever's Lone Wolf This one most certainly is a gamebook and is mighty proud of tha…

As I explain in the hands-on, we don't often bring you footage of gamebooks, because they're not the most exciting of videos. Nothing much moving, lots of text - that sort of thing. But I had to bring you a look at Heavy Metal Thunder, because it's super atmospheric, and very well put together. Click play on the video below for a look, then let me know if you pick up Heavy Metal Thunder, in the comments below.…
