The 5 best premium auto-runner games for mobile

I feel like Mondays always split people into two groups. On one side you've got the early risers and keen beans and on the other side you've got the folks who wish they could bring their bed to work with them. Sure, you've got to get going and you've got some time to kill on the bus, train, or on your lunch break, but you don't want to play anything that's TOO much effort, right? Well, that's where auto-runners come in handy. Whether it's an endless or level-based runner, some of the App Store's grandest adventures can be spent trying to 'git gud' at these games. Better still, for the most part you only need to tap the screen. Ooo, pure luxury. Alto's Odyssey - download on iOS (£4.9…

The best mobile gaming videos from AppSpy's YouTube channel: September 6th

Another week is almost over and now's a brilliant time to take a look back at the past several days. I know I've been writing this round-up up on a Friday, but I figured there's no harm in doing it a day early. Why? James has been busy at work creating more fantastic content for you over on AppSpy's YouTube channel and I just can't wait to share it with you. Maybe you've seen it, maybe you haven't, but I'd highly recommend having a watch of what we've got in store. We're rich in reviews this week, but card game-lovers will definitely want to stick around to read what's been going on. QUARTO review Board game enthusiasts, you should really check this review out. It's only a couple of min…

The best silly sports mobile games to play with one hand

It's sunny, there's a slight bite to the air now summer's coming to an end, and we're half-way through the week. Why is that a big deal? Well, it's not really, but it can often feel like the day's going a little slower than usual. You know what would be a pretty good remedy to such a time? Silly sports games, of course. What? You've never played any silly sports games? You're probably not alone. Whatever mood you in, whatever kind of day you're having, these mobile titles take the idea of playing a sport and gives it a bit of a jiggle. Management sims offer up more of a logical, straight-forward challenge if you're a hardcore sports fan. But, for me I often think about the lighter side &nd…

The best 5 mobile bullet hell games for iOS

You may think that diving into a bullet hell on Monday morning might not be the best idea. After all, you probably won't wake up properly until at LEAST Tuesday afternoon, but I'm not judging. However, what's better to give your brain a bit of a jolt than diving into some high-octane, bullet-riddled chaos? Your morning coffee might wake you a bit, but this'll get your blood pumping and your fingers aching without fail. Even if you're reading this list in the evening, on a Wednesday, or maybe even in the Christmas holidays, these shmups are some of the very best available and we think you'll have a ball with them. Five isn't a huge number, so if you don't see your fave down below, be sure t…

The best mobile gaming videos of the week from AppSpy's YouTube channel

It's the end of another week and, thanks to a beautiful bank holiday Monday here in the UK, it probably feels a little shorter than normal. Well, I guess that's because it was shorter than normal… because we were all enjoying an extra day of R&R. Like last week, Friday's a great time to take a look back at the past few days and see what's been going on over at AppSpy's YouTube channel. Don't worry I won't waffle on too much. If you've been umm-ing and ahh-ing about whether to subscribe, I'd suggest doing so. James does have the voice of a gruff, grizzy angel after all. Donut County review If you're not so sure about whether it's worth picking it up for £4.99/$4.99 on i…

Here's everything you need to know about The Elder Scrolls: Blades

Okay, we may have given you a quick list of fantastic first-person RPGs yesterday to satiate your hunger, but what's the big deal about The Elder Scrolls: Blades? There have been other similar experiences on mobile before and there'll be more experiences like it to come, but this is going to be something special. I don't know whether it'll be in a good or bad way yet, but it's going to be fun finding out. Just because we're super nice folks, we did the hard part for you and compiled everything you need to know about the game in one, handy article. Yes, yes, wonderful are we. What is it? The Elder Scrolls: Blades is a first-person action RPG by Bethesda where you embody a member of the…

The best first-person RPGs for mobile

Whether you're here just because you LOVE RPGs or fancy putting some time into some first-person mobile games before Elder Scrolls: Blades comes out later this week, you'll have an absolute ball with these. Or maybe you won't, I'm not your mother. Elder Scrolls: Blades has been an eagerly-awaited mobile game since its reveal at E3 earlier this year. Not only will it be free-to-play, but it's got a lot of the classic Skyrim charm and has a new and vastly interesting combat system. Better still, it looks like it'll be a breeze to play. That makes this list a bit harder since RPGs are rather subjective and I'm missing out on a couple of greats, I'm sure, but I think there's a lot to love here…

The best mobile gaming videos of the week from AppSpy's YouTube channel

Well, we made it to the end of the week somehow. It might be because of all of the coffee we've been drinking, or maybe just the promise of the coming weekend has kept us going, either way it's so close we can taste it. Before we can step into wearing our pyjamas for 48 hours, eating our weight in pretzels, and not seeing the light of day, now's a good time to check over what's been happening on our video channel. After all, James has slapped up some fantastic content that you might have missed over on AppSpy's YouTube. Don't worry though, we've done the hard work for you. Barbearian review Barbearian may charge a hefty £8.99/$8.99 for it on iOS, but you're getting a full experienc…

Waiting for next year's VMAs won't be hard with these 5 music games on iOS

With the VMAs over and done with some of you might be feeling a little blue. No more amazing performances, no more questionable tributes, no more celebrity drama (kidding – there'll always be celebrity drama), at least for another year. If you're already missing celebrating the world's best funky beats there's no need to fret. These musical mobile games may not blare Ariana Grande out at full volume or come with their own stream of catty comments, but there's a lot of fun to be had with or without headphones. Muse Dash – download on iOS for £2.99/$2.99 Striking graphics, anime characters, and fresh beats – what's there not to like here? It may take a sweet second…
