As part of an update scheduled to land next month, Pokemon Go will drop support for a couple of popular iPhones, as well as iOS 10, 11, and Android 5. The iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 will no longer be supported following the update, which is unfortunate but ultimately inevitable. Trainers with devices not specifically listed here will not be affected and don’t need to take any action. — Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) August 31, 2020 Anyone buying into Apple's ecosystem knowns that their device's long-term usability is limit…

Marvel Contest of Champions adds the super smart, super deadly Dragon Man

Dragon Man might not be among Marvel's best-known characters, but that doesn't mean he's any less dangerous in a fight. Now, he's made his grand debut in Kabam's Marvel Contest of Champions. In the not-too-distant past, Dragon Man was actually a lifeless android built by Professor Gregson Gilbert. He was then brought to life by Diablo via a potent mix of science and alchemy. Unfortunately for Dragon Man, he's spent a good deal of his time under the control of both heroes and villains who look to use in one way or another. That said, his programming has been upgraded by Valeria Richards, allowing him to think and act for himself. As a hero, he now boasts super-intellect and unstoppable st…

Marvel Super War launches in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea

Marvel Super War, the 5v5 MOBA, has now expanded its release to Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and Japan. This one comes to us from mobile games giant NetEase and sees you collecting a giant roster of Marvel's biggest heroes and villains, including Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and many more. Each comes with their own unique powers with which to decimate your foes out on the battlefield. It looks to be a polished, well-presented MOBA, though whether it does enough to stand out from the pack is still unclear. It's actually been available for a little while now in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and numerous other Southeast Asian countries. I imagine we'll continue to…

Invictus: Lost Soul slices and dices its way onto iOS and Android in select regions

Invictus: Lost Soul first drew me in because it looks a little bit like Infinity Blade. That's all it takes, apparently. On closer inspection, however, it became clear that this is a fundamentally different experience, delivering a mix of card-based strategy and real-time battling. The news today is that it's finally launched for iOS and Android in select regions, including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Singapore. The basic idea is that you'll duke it out with a rival player in mobile-friendly multiplayer matches. Your moves and abilities are dictated by your current deck, so it's not all about fast-paced reaction times and spamming attacks. Each card…

Pascal's Wager's Tides of Oblivion expansion has arrived for iOS & Android

Barely a week goes by now where we're not treated to a new spin on the soulslike formula. On mobile, however, only a select few developers have had a go at the genre, and one of the best examples so far has been the grim and brutal Pascal's Wager. It first launched earlier this year for iOS before making its way over to Android. Now, its latest and potentially largest expansion has arrived for the very reasonable asking price of $2.99. Tides of Oblivion introduces a number of new enemies and characters for the most intrepid of explorers to encounter. The latest region is known as Ichthyosauria, which is where playable character Jerold resides. He's a fairly dour fellow who is nevertheles…

"Kinetic sculpture races are fascinating real-world events," said Arpith Kanade, Associate General Manager at Zynga India. Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition arrives on iOS today

An enhanced edition of Bioware's Neverwinter Nights has rocked up on the App Store today. It's considered something of a classic RPG, and it's set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons. The port has been handled by developer Beamdog, who also helped to resurrect the likes of Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment. For $9.99, you're getting a seemingly mobile-friendly (or more likely tablet-friendly) port, full online multiplayer co-op with cross-platform support for PC and consoles, and a host of DLC expansions. There is, however, some extra paid DLC up for purchase. This includes six premium modules such as Tyrants of the Moonsea, Darkness over Daggerford, Infinite Dungeons, Pirates of…

Catalyst Black launches into early access on iOS

Vainglory developer Super Evil Megacorp has now launched its Secret Service early access programme for its second game, Catalyst Black. The much-hyped battleground shooter mixes together elements of MOBAs, arena shooters, and more to create something that should feel familiar to fans of SEMC's earlier release. The game boasts large-scale gunfights where you'll work to secure objectives and take down rival players. Using an innovative drop-in, drop-out matchmaking system, you'll be able to easily hop into a game with your friends or leave without worrying about ruining the experience for other players. One of its biggest draws is the inclusion of strange masks that allow you to transform…

PUSS! is a super strange platform puzzler available now on iOS and Android

There aren't many games more deliberately, constantly strange than PUSS!. It first arrived on the scene back in 2018, though its mobile ports were only announced last month. Now, it's available for iOS and Android as a premium release. The core gameplay challenges you to navigate your way through a series of complex maxes without bumping into any walls or coming into contact with nasty hazards. Things seemingly get progressively weirder as the game goes along, with its wild visuals pulling from a range of modern art styles, including web punk, surrealism, glitch art, and vaporwave. At the end of every world, you'll face off against a tricky boss, then net yourself a new ally who'll join…

SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off's latest update adds a new themed world – New Kelp City

SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off has now received a fairly sizeable update that adds an all-new world – New Kelp City. You'll now be able to visit some familiar faces from the show, including Mermaid Man, and work away at the Last Chance coffee shop. Here, you'll serve up caffeinated drinks and pastries to punters from Bikini Bottom and beyond. As you progress, you'll help some superhero-themed characters unlock their powers. Krusty Cook-Off is of course a fast-paced cooking game featuring plenty of characters from the hit show, from Mr. Krabs and Patrick to Sandy Cheeks. It boasts plenty of well-known SpongeBob locales, including the legendary Krusty Krab and Sandy's Treedome. The game…

Popular platform battler Brawlhalla hits Android today

Brawhalla was originally intended to launch for iOS and Android this Thursday, August 6th, though it suddenly appeared on Google Play earlier today. This was first spotted by Android Police. The game is a platform arena brawler in the vein of Nintendo's Smash Bros. series. The difference here is that it's free to play and boasts a huge roster of pop culture characters from a variety of properties, from Adventure Time to the WWE. It currently boasts 50+ playable characters and a host of distinct modes. It's a good time, all told, and it's improved significantly since arriving on the scene in 2014. I also feel that it does more than enough to escape the shadow of Smash. If you fancy givin…

Golf Peaks and inbento developer Afterburn releases Kitty Curling on itch.io

Golf Peaks and inbento developer Afterburn has released an all-new game called Kitty Curling over on itch.io. It's a super cute game about, well, curling with slightly overweight cats. I've been having a very pleasant time with it so far, though it's important to note that this isn't a full release or anything like that. You see, Kitty Curling was actually developed for Slavic Game Jam 2020's online event. https://t.co/0Q7LeSfFL7Kitty Curling was just updated to version 1.1, featuring completely reworked levels, new tutorial & some bug fixes :) — Luke (@Spierek) July 29, 2020 Regardless, it's already in pretty great shape, and the core hook of sliding cats into other cats i…

Marvel Duel, NetEase's strategy card battler, launches today in select regions

Marvel Duel, NetEase's strategy card game, has now launched for iOS & Android in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This one boasts a giant roster of Marvel's beloved heroes and villains. There are currently over 150 of them to collect in total, from the most well-known of characters to the slightly more obscure. The idea is that you'll compose unique lineups of superpowered characters to do your bidding and crush your enemies underfoot. It's not just about raw power, however, as you'll also need to put a fair amount of thought into your character combinations and deck-building strategies. You can expect to see the likes of Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Capta…
