The second major Taichi Panda expansion, the Ascension Update, has been released by Snail Games and features a higher level cap, two new chapters of single player story, and a new server-wide event, Mega Boss battle. Taichi Panda places you in the shoes of a panda martial artist, a warrior with a massive sword, a sneaky treasure hunter, or a fox mage and tasks you with heading out into dungeons to beat up thousands of enemy monsters. The expansion features a new class, the fox mage, Teumessa, who casts spells from afar and is ideal for those who are impartial to getting close and personal. You can continue your story in the new town of Atlantis, where you'll find new gear, pets, skill systems, and story chapters that all take advantage of the increased level cap. You did read that correctly, yes. Taichi Panda is an action RPG about a bipedal panda that just so happens to know martial arts. He makes up one of three playable characters you can choose from. The others are a Lara Croft-like treasure hunter or a knight not unlike Sir Lancelot. You know that feeling you get when you see something and instantly realise that it's been missing from your life? Well, apparently an overweight Tai Chi master panda beating up hordes of other bipedal animals in a beautiful Asian setting has been missing from mine. Taichi Panda is the game that gave me this realisation.
