These are the 5 best tower defence games for iPhone
There are loads of genres that are synonymous with mobile, and one of those is tower defence. It's sort of fallen onto hard times in recent years though, with more powerful phones able to deal with more complex games. That doesn't mean you should ignore tower defence games though, far from it. Because while they might seem a tad old fashioned now, the best ones still offer some bite-sized strategy when you're on the go. And, on top of that, they're often an awful lot of fun. And who doesn't like fun? No one important, that's for sure. That said, if you think we've missed anything out from our list, then be sure to let us know, in the kindest way possible, in the comments section at the bot…
Dungeon defense receives an action movie twist in Forgive Me My Henchmen, coming to iOS and Android
Forgive Me My Henchmen takes the classic action plot - wronged hero on an one-man army rampage through countless foes - and lets you play the other side of that story, a satrica lane defense strategy game that pits you in control of the henchmen and their base’s defenses. Similar to the classic Dungeon Keeper titles, Forgive Me My Henchmen presents your base in 2D pixel art and provides an array of bad guys and obstacles to place in the path of the rampaging hero. Simple grunts as fodder, doors to slow his approach, explosives to deliver damage, posters to boost morale, even special units like Janitors...all strategically positioned to work in tandem and overcome the hero. A…

The big difference between Sleep Attack TD and other tower defence games is that you can rotate the battlefield to work in your favour, and this one change makes for a refreshing gameplay experience in a genre that's now a little old in the tooth. It's cute too, with a frankly adorable cartoon look. Check it out in my sneak peek below.…

OTTTD iPad Review
OTTTD (or 'Over The Top Tower Defence') does a pretty good job of living up to its title. Every stage, you are swarmed by bizarre cartoon aliens, and must erect towers to fight them back. While the action is frantic, the classic tower defence gameplay is easily mastered thanks to its straightforward controls. Tapping on any construction point brings up a radial…
Watch The Video ReviewOverkills abounds in new iOS tower defence game OTTTD
Apparently, OTTTD is an acronym for Over The Top Tower Defence. And, in fairness, the game's overblown explosions and wacky cast of units deliver exactly what it says on the tin. While it may have tower defence in the title, the game actually blends a fair amount of traditional RTS into its melting pot of gameplay. Along with the standard defensive emplacements, OTTTD lets you take command a squad of heroes to take the devastation directly to your foes. RPG elements are also mixed into OTTTD’s flavoursome gameplay stew. You can level up your heroes, and personalise their equipment to suit your play style. If the trailer above isn’t enough, then you can always check…

Help young avians fall in love in quirky tower defence title Flirty Birdys [Sponsored]
You’d be forgiven for thinking that a game called Flirty Birdys was a shameless rip-off designed to cash-in on the popularity of Angry Birds or Flappy Bird or one of the other avian-stuffed titles on the App Store. You couldn’t be more wrong, though. Flirty Birdys is, in fact, a quirky and colourful tower defence title in which you take on the role of a digital matchmaker. Basically, your aim is to manipulate male birds into falling in love with their female counterparts. In each level of the game, you have to - much like in any other tower defence title - strategically place towers (female birds, in this case) along a winding park pathway in order to successfully distract the…

Nival’s take on the tower defence genre, Defenders, has just made the jump from PC to iOS. Adding a collectible card game element to the standard tower defence gameplay, Defenders has you build and customise a selection of towers over 23 levels. You collect cards - and in turn towers - by completing levels. You can also choose to fuse cards you are not using, creating towers with new abilities. All of the original PC game's visual and audio seems to be present in this port. This means on smaller screens that the combat can become quite busy. Luckily, a pinch of the screen will zoom you into the action to ensure that you aren't accidentally throwing up towers in the wrong places. P…
