If you've been on the fence about Assassin’s Creed Pirates, now might be the perfect time you climb onboard. You see, Ubisoft has just dropped the price of the naval battle game to £1.49 / $1.99 This mobile tie-in to Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag has you sailing the Caribbean as Alonzo Batilla, an eager young Captain willing to do anything to make his fortune. Taking part in fierce naval battles, you must scupper enemy vessels, and capture anything from frigates to Man-o-Wars to aid your conquest of the West-Indies. Hands-on with Assassin's Creed Memories, the card battler that manages to make aerial assassinations a bit dull

As a long-time fan of the Assassin's Creed series, I've been eagerly awaiting another really strong mobile tie-in game since the rather smashing Assassin's Creed Pirates. The news of a card battler - which as regular viewers will know is one of my favourite genres - being combined with Assassin's Creed was exciting indeed. It's with a heavy heart then that I have to report that Assassin's Creed Memories is a bit dull, or in the very least the soft-launched version in the Australian App Store is a bit dull. Slow-moving, overly-complex, and only the faintest of connections to the Assassin's Creed universe make the game in its current state a disappointment. Here's my hands-on video explainin…

Ubisoft has joined forces with Gree and PlayNext to deliver an all new free-to-play installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise: a CCG called Assassin’s Creed Memories. Digital card-battling has been increasing in popularity recently. The genre’s ability to mix the card combat with RPG leveling and strategic elements have sucked players in, while the booster-pack IAPs have attracted publishers and developers. Ubisoft seems to be planning to tap directly into this popularity, utilising its Assassin’s Creed franchise as the foundation. Inviting you into a new mobile Animus, you have to travel through history with the aim of building a powerful guild, recruitin…

Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be coming out on iPad

More and more lately it feels like I am seeing more announcements of AAA games coming to mobile, and it is a delight. Mostly on Apple, yes, but it is still great to see mobile gaming flourish this rapidly, and thanks to Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the next title to follow the trend.  It has taken a long time to get to Japan, which is weird because home of actual ninjas, but finally the Ubisoft smash series is headed to feudal Japan. There will be two characters to play as here; the stealthy and silent shinobi Naoe, and the powerful and legendary samurai Yasuke.  There will be two playstyles to choose between, stealthy or stabby, and it sounds like the perfect way t…
