Our pick of the top iPhone and iPad game of the week - Scorcher
Every week here at AppSpy we like to pick one game that came out over the last seven days that we think you should definitely be playing. And this week is no different, because we're creatures of habit. We've picked Scorcher this week, and now we're going to tell you why. The game is the latest release from Radiangames, and it's been a while coming. If you're a fan of the dev you'll know some of what to expect here - fast gameplay, a unique style, and a pretty high level of challenge. But there are some twists to the Radian-formula here that you're also going to love. Essentially the game is a one-finger racer. You're controlling a ship that's pelting down a canyon. Hit the side of that ca…
Our pick of the top iPhone and iPad game of the week - Rolling Sky 2: Rolling Dream
We always like to make sure you're playing the best games - really, that's the point of our jobs. We're here to tell you about all the awesome mobile games that come out every week - and this week we're proper jazzed about Rolling Sky 2: Rolling Dream. Want to find out why? You'll have to keep reading then. The game is an auto-runner, but it's got so many twists up its various sleeves that it'd be diminishing it to think of it in the same terms as some other games that might fit into the same genre. For one thing, this is one of the slickest runners we've seen in a long time. The graphics are gorgeous, and the overall style is one that's both unique and dripping with quality. There's plent…
Our pick of the top iPhone and iPad game of the week - Stay
Sometimes games come along that have such interesting core ideas, it's impossible for us not to write about them. That's definitely the case with Stay, which has just landed on the App Store. In fact, it's got us so excited that we've decided to make it this week's game of the week. And now we're going to write a whole bunch of words about why we're stoked the game is finally out for mobile. It's a game about communication and connection. A stranger wakes up in a room with only an internet connected computer in it. That computer is open to a chat room, and you're in that chat room. You'll be asked questions, talk to Quinn (the man in the room), and try to figure out what's going on. The tw…
Our pick of the top iPhone and iPad game of the week - Tacticool
Every Thursday here at AppSpy we like to make sure that you know what the most exciting game that's come out over the past seven days. And today is no different. This week's game of the week is the awesome Tacticool, a top-down multiplayer shooter that's just landed on the App Store. The game sees you taking control of a soldier, teaming up with friends or strangers, and taking on another team in fast-paced military shooting action. And while that blasting core is solid, it's the other little layers that Tacticool puts down that make this such an interesting prospect. For one thing there are vehicles you can jump in. Grab a friend and they can man the gun on the back of a truck while you d…
Our pick of the top iPhone and iPad game of the week - Alien: Blackout
Every week here at AppSpy we like to pick one game that's come out over the past seven days that we think you should be playing. And that's exactly what we're doing here - telling you that if you're only going to play one game this week you should probably make it Alien: Blackout. The game is set in the same universe as all of the other Alien games, and sees you playing Ripley's daughter. This time you're trapped on a terrifying space station that's been overrun by the awful xenomorphs. You need to guide a team through the corridors and keep them safe. It's sort of like Five Nights at Freddy's, but instead of horrifying animatronic animals, sleak extraterrestrial killing machines are the o…
Our pick of the top iPhone and iPad game of the week - Forged Fantasy
Every week here at AppSpy we like to choose one game that we think stands head and shoulders above all the others that have come out over the past seven days. Sometimes it's difficult to pick just one, since there are so many awesome games regularly coming out on the App Store. Not so this week - this week Forged Fantasy was always going to be the winner. The game is a super polished, cinematic action RPG that sees you building up a team of heroes. There are magic using nymphs, sword wielding warriors, bow-blasting samurai, giant rock monsters, and more. It's up to you to train them up, smash down the bad guys, and grab the loot. Forged Fantasy is a midcore game through and through though.…
