Recruit two new characters and clear some special event dungeons in King of Fighters Allstar
Netmarble has unleashed two new warriors into the world of King of Fighters Allstar in the latest update. Athena and Xi Benimaru are gearing up to jump into the ring and tackle the onslaught of new dungeons and special events placed before them in this bumper January release. Both of these new fighters are more geared towards mono-coloured teams thanks to their skills, starting with 2003 Athena. She is an Attack-type Green Element, with the ability to increase Green fighters ATK, which is cool. Her main strength lies in her use of Barrier projectiles to shepherd enemies together, setting them up for some easy AOE damage. Our second recruit is Xi Benimaru, also an Attack fighter but of the…
GungHo Online announce a collaboration between Puzzle & Dragons and one of the greats of manga
We all enjoy a good puzzle game, but I am sure we can agree adding a constant threat of dismemberment would really up that enjoyment, which is why GungHo Online has announced a collaboration with Chainsaw Man for the hit match-3 Puzzle & Dragons. If you managed to miss it, Chainsaw Man is a massively popular shonen manga series, making it quite a boon for GungHo. It follows the story of a young man named Denji who, after being betrayed by his employers and killed, forms a contract with the Chainsaw Devil, in the form of lovable pooch Pochita, to save his life and becomes the eponymous Chainsaw Man. By taking on the Chainsaw Man dungeon, you can earn yourself one pull of the Super Godfa…
It's So Long, Jimmy as Stumble Guys’ MrBeast collaboration concludes with a big song and dance
It has been a blast and resulted in more than a few virtual broken bones, but the collaboration between MrBeast and Stumble Guys is coming to an end after the first-of-its-kind months-long team-up for Scopely. Cue the tears of sadness, and now those of pain because players aren't getting off that easily. This partnership is ending with a bang as the final MrBeast course gets revealed, and it's going to get everyone shaking and moving in Disco Drop. Feel the rhythm and bust out your moves, but don’t get too carried away. If you aren’t paying attention, you might just miss that floor falling out from under you. As you could probably guess, Disco Drop is an elimination course, whe…
The crimson sky beckons battlers as TROI gets a new weather effect in New State Mobile
We are, somehow, nearing the end of January, which really snuck up out of nowhere, and this can only mean it's time for the first monthly update for 2024 for KRAFTON's battle royale, New State Mobile. Kit yourself out with a new marksman rifle, and prepare to head into Season 13. When loading into the TROI map, there is a chance that you will end up in TROI Twilight, which you will immediately realise as the sky will be an incredible shade of orangey red, looking like something out of a zombie mode. As well as giving you a mesmerising new backdrop to battles, there is also a double-edged sword element to deal with. Perform well enough to eke out that win under the TROI Twilight, and you wi…
Delve into the life of one of history's most electrifying figures in The House of Tesla
History can be both incredibly cruel and kind, and unfortunately for Nikola Tesla, he got the short end of both sticks, primarily being remembered as a brand of electric cars, and for his feud with Thomas Edison. Blue Brain Games is looking to shine a light on his own works, however, with the upcoming puzzle game The House of Tesla. Players will be stepping into the shoes of the father of alternating current himself, as they explore the life of one of the most prolific inventors in history. The story will focus on Wardenclyffe, what was to be Teslas’ magnum opus until his ever-expanding vision for the site caused the chief financial backer to pull out, and saw the project reduced to d…
Harness the true power of moving out of the way in Boxing Star’s latest mode
Are you tired of getting repeatedly punched right on the nose, or being unable to dodge those flying wrenches coming at your head? Well, good news, because it is time to hone those reflexes with the implementation of the Evasion Expert Mode in 4:33’s sporting sim Boxing Star. The Evasion Expert Mode will train you in the ancient art of actually getting out of the way when your opponent throws a punch instead of standing there like some gormless salmon. Simply head to the Battle Stadium to play this brand-new mode, where battles are won without dealing a single hit. During these special battles, you can only inflict damage on your foe by, as you may have sussed by now, successfully do…
Celebrate the year of the Dragon in Monster Hunter Now to commemorate Lunar New Year
We are approaching the Lunar New Year, and 2024 marks the year of the Dragon, which I think we can all agree is pretty cool. Besides all the interesting cultural celebrations that will occur, Capcom will also be marking the occasion with a Lucky Lunar New Year event on Monster Hunter Now. Running from February 1st to the 15th, you will be able to hunt the monstrous Pink Rathian both in the field and at Hunt-a-thon-Points. As well as these fearsome fights, you can also collect Fortune Lanterns for time-limited events, and get your hands on two special weapons, and some headgear with Critical Boost. As you hunt these Rathian or defeat any monster at the Hunt-a-thons, you will rack up LNY 202…
The Winter Summit lays out a host of updates for Old School Runescape
If the freezing cold, ice-pop vehicles, multiple storms, snow, or the myriad of other harbingers of the cold are anything to go by, we are still deep in the heart of winter, which can only mean two things; perpetual frostbite and the Old School RuneScape Winter Summit. You can view the whole thing on Twitch if you have a spare three hours, but here are the bullet points. Kicking off with the biggy that was teased back during the Summer Summit is Varlamore, a whole new area for players to explore. The first part of this locale will be launching on March 20th and will include the Civitas illa Fortis, and the vast yawning chasm of the Avium Savannah. Those stalwart amongst you will be able to…
Explore the official world of Spongebob Squarepants for the first time in Roblox
Since its launch, Roblox has had some phenomenal growth and, despite its criticisms, has cemented itself as one of the go-tos for creating your own games. And now, thanks to Gamefam, players will soon be able to head to that fabled pineapple under the sea with the first official Roblox game based on Spongebob Squarepants. Bikini Bottom will be swinging open its watery gates on January 26th, and will task players to explore the iconic world for a bit of collection-mania. There will be a variety of special mini-buddies to collect modelled after the famous cast, such as snails, jellyfish, and the characters themselves. What’s more, players will even be able to step into the shoes of Bik…
Teamfight Tactics gears up for the Remix Rumble Championship in March
We are seeing more and more mobile games running tournaments and giving players a chance to earn money with their skills, and I for one am right behind it. Now, Riot is announcing its latest prize pool-backed venture with the Remix Rumble Championship primed to kick off soon in Teamfight Tactics. The world’s best players are already duking it out in regional events to qualify for the Set Championship, with Remit Rumble set to take place from March 1st to 3rd between the top 32 players across the globe. First place will scoop a rather delicious $150k from the $456k pool, and that’s money worth getting out of bed for. Starting on March 1st, all players will split into four lobbie…
DanChro retells the story of the series 2019 movie in latest update
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Battle Chronicle has released its latest update, telling the tale of the series' 2019 film, Arrow of the Orion. As with the show, the movie follows Bell Cranel as he goes on another adventure and does things, and perhaps stuff. Well, I’m not about to spoil the plot, am I? If you haven't seen the movie, then you are in luck, as this update throws the story into the game, so you can play and watch - perfection. In addition, there is an original epilogue penned by writer Fujino Omori scheduled for release, exclusive to DanChro. If you are a fan of the world, don’t miss out on this. To celebrate this release there is a limited-time…
Puzzle & Dragons join forces with Sanrio for a sixth time
It is tremendously dark times, and the world of Puzzle and Dragons is under threat; warriors are lagging under contest assault from enemy forces, and the people desperately call out for a hero. Then, on the horizon, the latest collaborative characters enter the fray, led by a grizzled veteran of many a bloody and horrific battle; Hello Kitty. This marks the sixth time that Sanrio has teamed up with GungHos’ puzzle game, and I for one will never stop being amused by the thought of a vanquished foe's last sight being an adorable white cat brandishing a massive weapon. Until January 29th you can recruit fighters such as Sea Wolf Pochacco, Kuromi the Great King, and the somehow terrifying…
Super Meat Boy smashes our hopes for a peaceful start to the year with a new update
It is time to dust off those thumbs and say goodbye to your sanity, as auto-running platformer Super Meat Boy Forever is starting off 2024 with a huge update with two huge new modes. If you made a New Year's resolution to cut down on stress, this might not be for you. For those not acquainted with Super Meat Boy Forever, it is quite a tricky platformer where you have no chance to take a break, you are always moving forward towards at least one thing that wishes to harm you, and the levels are randomly generated every time you enter so you can’t learn it. In short, welcome to pain. The rather delightfully named Meat Grinder comes complete with two new ways to play. The Daily Grind is…
Gulp some ghosts and munch some pellets as Pac-Man comes to Stumble Guys
As it does every year, the holiday season has destroyed all sense of time, so it might seem long but it has only been two or three weeks since Stumble Guys teamed up with gaming legend Tetris, and now it has moved onto another giant. Their next team-up target is a simple little maze man, with one of the most iconic sound effects in history. It’s time to get your waka waka one as that gluttonous yellow orb known as Pac-Man chomps his way into Stumble Guys, bringing with him a new level, cosmetics, and a special collection mechanic, because of course. Whilst we will only be getting one new level, looking at the trailer, that is all we will need. Taking the lead from the famous game,…
Put on your waders and big thick coat as it’s time to go ice fishing in Play Together
Kaia Island is experiencing something of a snap-freeze, as ice overtakes all in Play Together. Luckily, this is not an apocalyptic event that will see Jake Gyllenhaal kicking in your door. Instead, it is a time to celebrate with a host of new fish to catch, event missions to complete, and a special new house that those cold-blooded amongst us will love. If you peer into the sea, you may spot what look like floating frozen shards, but open your angler eye, and you will instead see one of the new Icy Fish species, of which there are 30. These frozen-looking wonders can be caught during wintertime in the sea, as well as in other generic wet bodies of water such as the Camping Grounds, ponds, a…
