Maze Theory and BBC Studios are releasing a new Doctor Who game in March, taking on the form of a found footage mobile game called Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins. It’s coming to iOS and Android on 19th March. The game is about finding a lost phone where your character has found a phone with various chat logs and apps to search for clues surrounding the mystery of what is happening. Sandwich Generation has released Make a Square, a new unique puzzler that looks both stylish and relaxing to play, on iOS and Android devices via their respective stores. According to the developer, it’s a game that is “easy to learn but hard to master” with a simple objective: you select groups of scattered blocks and rearrange them to form a square in as few moves as possible. Wizards of the Coast has brought the highly popular card game Magic: The Gathering to mobile in the form of Magic: The Gathering Arena, which originally launched on PC in 2019, and it’s out now as an early access title on Google Play. Full versions for iOS and Android will be available later this year. In Magic: The Gathering Arena, you collect decks of cards which generate five separate colours of mana, and then play them to cast spells, summon creatures and activate special abilities. Humble Games has announced its roguelike deckbuilder Slay the Spire is coming to Android next week on 3rd February. This comes about six months after it was released on iOS in 2020. Developed by MegaCrit, Slay the Spire has you crafting a unique deck made up of hundreds of potential cards you can play during battle. Plug In Digital and indie developer Damien Mayance has released Flipon, a block-busting puzzler on iOS and Android devices after its earlier release on PC and Nintendo Switch last year. It’s a puzzle game which combines the mechanics of match-3 games with a working gravity system where you need to clear a board of blocks which constantly fall from the top.
