Gigapocalypse crashes onto mobiel device and brings endless hours of destructive fun
Headup Games and Goody Gameworks have announced a mobile port for the side-scrolling city-smashing masterpiece Gigapocalypse. The game gives players the opportunity to control a giant monster and utterly demolish numerous cities with a variety of devastating skills, which is surely reason enough to give it a go. There is not much better than a deep game with an interesting story and engaging mechanics, and a lot of fun hours can be spent on them, however, this is nothing that brings wonderful childish glee than a game whose sole purpose is just to utterly mess things up. Games like Gigapocalypse are wonderfully simple ways to get endless amusement. Taking inspiration from the Kaiju genre,…
Brawhalla welcomes iconic fighters from Konami's acclaimed Castlevania series
Ubisoft has announced the release of two rather fitting new epic crossover characters for the platform fighter Brawlhalla, just in time for the spooky season. Hailing from the iconic Konami Castlevania series, Simon Belmont and Alucard will be fighting it out to prove who is mightier; vampire or hunter. Simon Belmont comes in as a crossover for Jhala, bringing the skills expected from one of the prominent vampire hunter clans. Wielding the Morning Star of the Belmonts, Simon is able to use Holy Water to cause explosions, dealing massive damage to enemies. His second weapon, a Battle Axe, can be used to set up a devastating combo attack with his Vampire Killer whip. Alucard steps in for E…
Follow the narrative adventure of a ghost accepting his demise in How to Say Goodbye
The release date for How to Say Goodbye, a poignant narrative about life, death and mourning, has been announced. Created by ARTE France, Florian Veltman and Baptise Portefaix, How to Say Goodbye is a narrative puzzle game full of poetry following one ghost's journey in the great beyond. In the majority of video games, death is treated as an almost minor thing, just one of many mooks defeated to get to the end credits. Some games do touch on the grief of those who lose a loved one, but How to Say Goodbye follows a character just after their death, accepting their demise and passing through the other side. The puzzle gameplay takes place on a grid, with a variety of characters and decor ava…
Lilycore Games debut mobile game Bossgame: The Final Boss is my Heart releases 20th October
The first mobile game developed by one-woman indie studio Lilycore Games releases in a few short days, the oft-dubbed superfast lesbian devil fighter Bossgame: The Final Boss is my Heart. Romance is very much at the centre of this game, with the two main characters already being in a committed relationship, which is an interesting take as most games focus on the build-up. Sword priestess Sophie and fire-mage Anna are partners that live in the devil-infested Mammon City, where the best way to make money is to hunt said devils. The graphic style pays homage to the overlord of indie games, Undertale, with the gameplay also relying on the player having quick reflexes as the combat is a very fa…
Golf gets an anime twist with the upcoming release of NEKO Gold
The Anime art style is perfect for gaming as it easily adds a layer of vibrant happy fun to the artwork, and the latest game to take advantage of this is COLOPL Incs' NEKO Golf -Anime GOLF-. Rather disappointingly you do not golf as a cat, but NEKO Golf looks to have enough going for it to overlook that grievous oversight. NEKO Golf brings a variety of different modes to choose from for the social to the shut-in. Enjoy Mode lets players swing away to their heart's content in either a solo tournament or an unstructured jaunt on the driving range. The rather anime-titled Battle Mode is for those who want to compete for the best score, and the Golf Tour will pit golfers against other real play…

The spooky season is well and truly underway with multiple games getting Halloween-themed updates, however, none can be so scary, so bone-chilling and so sweat-inducing as the spooky update to Gordon Ramsay’s Chef Blast. Amateur phone chefs will be able to decorate their kitchens with ghoulish decorations and bake dastardly treats, for what is scarier than the lingering threat of holiday-fueled diabetes? The Halloween update for Chef Blast has officially kicked off and will last until November 3rd, bringing some fairly tasty events. For starters, new themed recipes have been added to collect, including the new Black Cocoa Donuts, and the return of an old favourite Crispy Ravens Wings…

Straight from the pages of Evangelion, players will have the chance to do battle against the fearsome Angels, and what's worse, they have become infected too. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent launches a colloboration event with four new characters
It is a very exciting time when a developer comes out with a decent collaboration event, and Square Enix has announced a new cross-over for its mobile RPG Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. Coming from another of Square Enix's extensive RPG catalogue, characters from the Bravely Default series will be joining the ranks of Champions of the Continent. With both of these properties sharing the same artistic style and world settings, a cross-over between the two is a very fitting event. Although, with that being said, Square has enough fantasy RPGs to collaborate with themselves all day long. The first of the collaborative characters has already landed, hailing from the lands of Br…
Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier spotlights the humble Chocobo in latest update
Ateam Entertainment Inc has plumbed the depths of depravity lately, taking one of the most rage-inducing mini-games in Final Fantasy history, and adding it to Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier. Whilst most fans of the Final Fantasy series will look back and remember the first PS2 entry, Final Fantasy X, as a near-perfect masterpiece, there is one part of the game that will send shivers down spines; the Sun Sigil. This required racing a Chocobo tamer whilst collecting enough balloons to achieve a time of 0.00 seconds, as seagulls moving at the speed of sound dive bombed and stunlocked the player. And now, Ateam Entertainment has chosen to raise the blood pressure of gamers all over again b…
