Christmas brings a new batter and debuff to the field in Homerun Clash 2: Legends Derby
Some people say that baseball is America's favourite pastime, and to them, I say, have you watched Basketball or American Football? Watching Baseball is dull, but at least playing video games based on the sport is a lot of fun, and Homerun Clash 2: Legends Derby is adding a bunch more to enjoy with its Christmas update. Let’s start with the new player; fighter-turned-batter Luca Leone. He packs the Unique Ability named Specialist which befits this big bruiser, as it focuses on smashing that baseball as hard as humanly possible. When it activities, you will earn additional points for the final score, based on the rate of consecutive home runs hit. You will be knocking it out of the pa…
Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown is back and re-released after some extensive maintenance
Let’s take a look at perhaps one of the shortest-lived apps in recent times; Sword Art Online: Variant Showdown. It was originally released back in November 2022, before bad reviews and a lot of issues caused the developers to take it down in September 2023, less than a year later. The management team released a statement offering their apologies and plans to take it offline and perform “extensive maintenance”. It is an admirable move to admit your failings and then work to correct them, instead of dropping the app entirely. Now we can see if the effort was worth it, with the re-release of Variant Showdown. If you never played it back during its first stint, t…

Learn the true meaning of the Aligator holidays with BROK Natal Tail Christmas
I think that we all have that list of games we wish to play but for some reason, we haven’t gotten around to, and for me, BROK the InvestiGator is high on that list, purely because of the pun. Yes, that's all it takes sometimes. Well, now the anthropomorphic gators universe has expanded with BROK Natal Tail Christmas. For those who haven’t dabbled in the series, you take the role of the titular Brok, an alligator who is a detective. I presume you don’t need to hear more but I shall continue anyway. You are usually able to tackle his cases through a variety of means; using your brain to think around situations, or saying what the hell and start throwing punches. BROK Natal…

The first new expansion pack comes to Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket to hopefully shake things up
When Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket launched I, like everyone, was instantly enamoured, but then everything sort of just, stopped. Between the zero trading and the two meta decks EVERYONE played, it felt like you just opened two packs of dupes a day. Soon though, The Pokemon Company is looking to change that. Eventual monotony aside, it appears that Pocket was a massive success, stacking up 60 million downloads since launching at the end of October. It was also nominated for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards, which surely was just Pikachu nepotism. At this point, you could slack Pokemon on anything and it would sell like hotcakes. All this aside, it seems that the tides might change sh…
Have a very Orc-ish Christmas as Kakele Online readies latest update
It's that festive time of year when the snow falls, presents are given, and everyone is in that same spirit; the spirit of orc stomping. Just in time then, as ViVa Games has announced The Orcs of Walfendah expansion for its MMORPG Kakele Online will launch in early December. Surprisingly, this expansion will see you following a heavily orc-themed storyline, pitting you against a variety of these brutal beasts. You will explore exotic new locations and collect a whole host of collectables such as cards, pets, mounts, and auras. There will also be an expansion to the character customisation in the form of additional clothing add-ons. Mid-level players will also get access to powerful n…
Relive the Raccoon City outbreak on the go as Resident Evil 2 launches on Apple devices
In all of gaming across every generation, one of my favourite protagonists has always been Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil. The fanboying really started on the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4 where his bravery and terrible puns enamoured me. iPhone users can now experience the origin of this hero with the release of Resident Evil 2. The first Resident Evil was undoubtedly a phenomenon, but I think the sequel definitely improved in most areas. You had the iconic Raccoon City to explore and two distinct paths with protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. It was remade back in 2019, and now Apple wielders can take the juiced-up zombie slaughter on the go. Of course, there are a few…
It's over 100 as Runescape breaks the level cap with three skills
Are you actually certifiably insane and believe that reaching level 99 in all of Runescapes’ 29 skills was not a big enough challenge? 2,871 levels not enough for you? Then it’s your lucky day you little overachiever you, as three of the game's skills can now breach that triple-digit barrier. Those of the ranger persuasion are going to be well looked after, as Woodcutting and Fletching level caps have now increased to 110. This brings out a slew of new content to get to grips with, such as exotic materials, powerful Masterwork weapons, fun new tools, and of course, skilling opportunities. Start your long pilgrimage to Eagle’s Peak and head due north, until you stumble upo…

It is a very sad fact that recently when we hear about finances in the video game world, it is usually dire news. Studios closing, games failing, and so on. Thankfully, however, we had a giant shot in the arm during the PUBG Mobile Global Championship, thanks to James Yang. Next year, PUBG Mobile will have players at all levels competing in over 20 regiona…
Warframe: 1999 Animated Prologue debuts from the hands of the masters over at THE LINE
I am here today with both good and bad news, concerning Warframe: 1999. The special short created in collaboration with THE LINE has finally dropped and is available to watch right now. Unfortunately, this is also the final piece of teaser content we are going to get ahead of the actual launch. The Hex - Warframe: 1999 Animated Prologue, to give it the full name, is the culmination of months of fun. We got some music from On-Lyne, a host of trailers, the Höllvania Central Mall social hub, a webcomic, and of course the actual playable demo. These are just the things popping into my mind right now. You will have one thought coming to mind when watching this short, and that is stylish. T…
Protect your house with the power of the gods as Runescape teams up with Makeship
I think all lovers of video games and other such pursuits have the same goal in life; to fill a house with all manner of nerdy paraphernalia. Jagex has recently been pushing its physical merchandise and is now introducing four plushies for you to collect and display on your shelves. Jagex has teamed up with Makeship, a company that works closely with creators to design and produce high-quality products. These plushies will add to Jagexs’ portfolio of collectables, which recently grew to include further books and comics. Makeship even created a Wise Old Man plush for Runescape before, but this run is a bit more revered. For a limited time, you can pick up four of the Gods of Gielinor…

Take a look at the other side of video game violence in Serial Cleaner
Usually in stealth games that involve the unceremonious deletion of targets, you are the one doing the removal, or getting the tables turned. Serial Cleaner places you in a completely different angle to this situation; coming in as a crime scene cleaner to remove the evidence of nefarious crimes. And with a mobile version landing early next year, you can enjoy some portable cleansing. It is the 1970s and mob hits are rife all across the city. You are a contract cleaner, sent in to remove all traces of these totally legitimate business transactions that just happen to make a little mess. The problem is that the police are all over these scenes, and you don’t want that level of heat. Y…
